"Reyaansh and Aisha's marriage had been decided when they were young. It was his mother's wish. And i think its time to make that wish come true."
He felt his jaw muscles clenched when he heard his father's voice. He closed his eyes tightly to calm himself. He knew he had to leave else he won't be able to stop an offensive comment from coming out of his mouth.
He stole a glance at her but neither was she looking at him, nor was she showing any emotion. It infuriate him. He look at his father who had busied himself in talking to a middle aged woman whom he had known to be his late mother's childhood best friend.
"Dad, I will be upstairs. I have an important call to make." Rey excused himself and moved to his room but stopped in mid way and turned around facing her.
"Taani, can you get me a coffee please?" His voice was soft yet had a powerful aura. He blinked when she gave a small nod in response and went in kitchen while he went upstairs in his room, having an impatient feeling within him to talk to her.
He walked inside the bedroom and settled himself on the couch. His eyes closed as he leaned back and let his muscles relaxed while thinking about the happenings of his life. From losing his dearest brother in an accident to having his father get him to marry a stranger due to his late mother's promise, everything was messy and he had no escape when he wanted one. Badly.
His chain of thoughts come to an halt when there was knock on the door. He straighten himself knowing who it must be. The door creaked open, revealing a feminine figure clad in plain peach colored saree which he hated for some odd reasons.
She moved inside the room with a tray in her hands.
"Taani." He called out for her, his gaze lingered over her face before he got up from his place and moved toward her.
"Your coffee." A mere whisper escaped her lips. She forwarded the tray toward him. He pressed his lips together, he took the tray from her and place it on the table before he took her hand in his, causing a surprise filled gasp to escape her lips.
"Reyaansh, what are you doing? Leave my hand." Taani look into his eyes straight as she spoke in low yet firm tone.
"Are you happy?" Ignoring her command, he asked her instead. Her eyes widen slightly while her heart beat paced up.
"Reyaansh, leave me. What if someone see us like this?" She rambled nervously, wriggling in his hold. Rey shook his head at her failed attempts and pulled her into him, causing her fragile form to crash against his muscular body. She clutched his shoulders in fear of falling while he was mesmerized to react. Her simplest touch could caste a spell over him.
"Dad wants me to get married. Are you happy?" He asked her while she looked away, not having an answer to his question. Deep down she knew the answer but can not bring herself to accept it. He deserve better. The thought crossed her mind every time she think about it.
"Its been a year now, taani, and i am still waiting for your one yes." Rey whispered, looking into her eyes with such emotions that shed her heart for being the reason of his distress.
"Reyaansh, I am wife of your late brother. What you want can not be possible in this lifetime." A lone tear escaped her eyes, She pulled herself away from him and ran out of the room.
