Gangaa...at the moment is going through an "All-time Low". By this I don't mean to say that the present track is the worst ever track...but just that the audience is generally so fed-up with all the negativity, character inconsistencies, weird twists that by now everyone is exhausted. In this post therefore, I would like to bring forth some worst twists in the order of MOST WORST to LEAST WORST that this show has brought forth
1.) PALASH TURNING NEGATIVE: - Although, the whole Palash track was an absolute non-sense and the worst was when the character was suddenly made to turn obsessively negative, from being an idealist. Palash's sudden negative turn for me, stands as the worst or rather I'd say, the cheapest twist ever on Gangaa. My favourite worst twist!!!
2.) JAANVI'S DEATH: - THis has to be the next negative twist on the show. Whether suicide or murder, Jaanvi's unnatural death did not go down well with me and I have several reasons for it. First, this kind of a death makes Sagar somehow morally guilty, as he could not gauge Jaanvi's mental condition, her pain etc. Second, her death kind of frees her of all the guilt...because as they say, respect the dead. Most of her deeds did not or rather could not come out...even that MMS came out in a jiffy with no possibility of any Sawaal-jawaab...she could have been made to answer but alas, she was made to vanish from the face of this earth.
3.) SAGAR-MARRYING JAANVI ON IMPULSE: - Even though Sagar realised his mistake soon after...but his impulsive marriage to Jaanvi was somehow the lowest Saagar ever...especially when he threw such lofty promises of love & care to Gangaa...till just an episode back. This was not only a bad twist on paper but also was not handled well on screen...as the reason for Sagar's excessive anger was also not justified.
4.) GANGAA'S PREGNANCY LEADING TO SAGA BREAK-UP: - The scene was undoubtedly handled very well but the substance of the scene was negative to the core. This was a ripe opportunity for the CVs to develop Sagar's character with a matured twist but they failed miserably. His trust for her should have been just a rock-solid one...but NO there is no growth in his character...from the MMS to this one...he has major trust issues.
5.) CHOTA SAGAR PUTTING SINDOOR ON CHOTI GANGAA: - This was not such a bad twist...but somehow I feel that the CVs made things very obvious. As audience, we always knew that they will eventually fall in love but to make it as apparent was something that did not go down well with me.
See, the problem that I see is that negativity is a part of life...but the CVs show weird negativity and then continue with it for months together but if there is a happy phase that'll get over within a week. This show has been causing me a lot of stress and I am watching it solely for some knock-out whistle phodu performances of Vishal Vashishtha.
