so it seems that the writers are all on the same note when it comes to storylines...nothing is different in any soap...I just read an article where in JR...the lead actress is reportedly quitting because the show is yet to take another leap and she is not interested in playing a mother role to the actor that she currently romances on the show...in another article it was stated that the writers had put forward to the actors of kkb that they too wanted to do a leap in which the actors expressed their wish not to continue with the show if this happens...why all shows are only showing leaps...memory loss track...kidnapping of leads and so much alike stories...can't these writers who are supposed the top of the line cannot really seriously come up with so much more interesting stories...or is it that they can be accused of plagiarism where they continuously copy each others work...I would like to think that they are intelligent enough to do a lot better than this...instead of frustrating both viewers and actors with the most redundant storylines...

I think it all comes down to the audience. The viewers are constantly complaining that the story lines keep repeating and all the shows are showing the same thing BUT they also keep watching religiously. As a result the TRPs stay high and the writers have no motivation to be creative. That leads to laziness and complacency on the CVs part and we end up in the mess we are in. The only way to wake the writers and producers up is to get the TRPs to drop dramatically. Then and only then will we have unique story lines and a stop to the endless dragging.

We keep blaming writers but if TRPs are high, do you think the system even allows them to do a better story? These third wheel, revenge marriage, memory loss all sorts of stories have been doing well in the history of soaps.. does that give the writers a reason change the basics? All soaps do end/go down at one point.. and then they start the same thing with another new pair/villain.

the flip side to low trp's is that you take a chance of the show going under the scanner...if viewers stop watching the show after a while the interest is lost and they may move on to another...kkb has high trp's because the viewers recognizes the potential of the story..and it goes high whenever tanu is shown to be getting exposed and when we are fooled and this does not happens the viewers starts to express their dissatisfaction...we have not seen what we really really want to see in this story...abhi and pragya love story in all its strength and beauty...if I remember correctly the trp's had once dropped to 2.6 around there...because the pregnancy track had really taken a toll...and then we got promos where tanu will be exposed...I think with the new promo that is being shown about abhi's accident...if this doesn't go in a positive manner...then the producers and writers may definitely get a rude awakening from its viewers...and kkb time slot is what is working for them...because it seems the other shows in this time slot is a bit more lame...

They will keep playing that gamble. It will never be a relatively happy life of AbhiGya for more than 1 week in the soap. Villains will be there until the last but one day of the soap.
Whatever it is Ann, KB has been on top 5 more or less, from the time I remember. I don't think the soap makers have much to worry as of now. If it goes really down they have 100 twists in store.

no show is without its villains...but kkb has the exception to villains..they are the biggest highlight of the show...alia as a villain anyone can handle...but a villain like tanu needs to be given the least amount of space...I know she is supposed to be the antagonist between abhi and pragya...but her presence is being shown as though she is the biggest success of the show...and it is quite the opposite...what wrtiers need to realise that there is a different crowd watching their shows now...it is not only one age group ...and the world has evolved so much with social media that ppl will voice and are constantly voicing their agreement and disagreements with the show...yes we love kkb...it is the only soap that some of us are interested in...but that does not mean we will take or want the stereotyped stories that have been shown since the beginning... the writers can at least put a toe outside the 'box' of stereotyped stories and do something different for a change...

Ann, the instagram, twitter, Indian forums audience is not the audience that really matter. Because all that Champu stuff for example, no one liked here... but the soap was no. 1 or 2.

Last week DNA plot all those plans of team failed, a baby was brutally killed, TaKhil took advantage of that, a sister wanted to use that agaisnt her bro, Pragya was blamed of baby murder and she left Abhi to Tannu. And guess what, the soap is no. 1.

How do we explain that?

if is one thing the producers know how to get the viewers back on track...they fully well know what storyline we are interested in and waiting to see...yes the baby killing track...and I said killing as well...because that is what happened...the other nastiness happened..but before this happened what did we get to keep us glued...the promo...of pragya calling abhi and telling him about tanu...and then we got another...tanu holding abhi's hand and leaving after...fading in the background...so the producers know exactly what to do to get us glued back...give us the promos we want to see...get our anticipation high...throw the wool over our eyes and then wham...turn it all around...thank god shabir and sriti has a hugh fan following and we don't want to let them down...so we continue to stick with the show...and the disappointment...and yes the show will stay in the first five...fluctuating at times because if we really look at it the other shows are certainly not making the grade at all...

Exactly what I am saying Ann. They know what to do to keep running in the business. Don't forget it's an EK show. And EK is an experienced producer of many many years.. so are most crew and cast.. They all know what they are doing and already good at it!

When audience are not ready to accept changes we can't blame writers.

There were so many shows with different concepts which failed miserably.

This is business for producers & they don't like to take risks if they are getting profits.
