PART 1
She arranged the flowers in the vase. Lilies, roses, what am I missing? she tapped a long stemmed rose against her chin. "Oh baby's breath!"
She quickly turned around and went into the freezer and took out some white baby's breath and put it in the arrangement. "Much better,"
The phone rang then and she picked it up quickly. "Hello. Bluemoon Florist. How can I help you?"
"Hi," a frantic voice greeted her. "Do you have any rose bouquets?"
She smiled. Obviously, "Yes sir we do."
"Thanks!" The male hung up quickly and she took the phone away from her and just stared at it. "How weird,"
She shook her head as she put the phone back down on its receiver before turning back to another empty vase.
As she set to work picking the exact flowers to match with the arrangement she couldn't help but think about her life.
Sure she loved flowers, it was her part-time job after all, but would she ever find someone who would give her gorgeous flowers like the ones she was constantly surrounded by.
Absentmindedly she picked up a rose and hurt herself on the thorns. "Ouch!"
She quickly dropped the rose and ran towards the sink, letting the cold water cool her skin.
"Hi, is this shop open?" A soft voice asked.
She turned and saw a guy with fair skin walk in dressed in black jeans and a deep blue button down shirt underneath a black blazer.
She quickly turned off the tap and smiled. "Yeah it's open," She smoothed down her flowy skirt and walked to the front. "How can I help you?"
"I'm looking for a rose bouquet," he replied running his hand through his soft looking hair.
It must be so nice to run your fingers through that hair. Whoa! Wait a second, what the hell am I thinking? she mentally cursed herself. He's a customer...those thoughts are off limits,
"We have all types of rose bouquets. Any color preference?" She asked him.
He shrugged. "I don't know what color she'd like,"
"Who is 'she'?" She asked, trying to find out more about what he wants.
"She's this girl--" She grinned as a small blush tinted at his cheeks. "I want to ask her out,"
She grinned. "Sounds cute,"
"Yeah well, I don't even think she notices me."
She sighed. Typically boy problems. Every girl notices a guy and he always notices someone else who likes someone else. What a drama,
"Okay," She grinned. "How about these?" she showed him the bouquet she just put together.
"They're nice," He grinned, causing her heart to flutter. "These are really pretty."
She giggled. "They're called lilies. They're my favourite. If you've noticed, they're in almost every arrangement. I feel like they add a dreamy effect to the whole thing."
He nodded and smiled with a twinkle in his hazel eyes. "I'll take them,"
"Sure, I'll ring it up." She led him to the cash register and started wrapping the flowers up while he signed his credit receipt.
"Thanks again,"
She waved him off. "Don't worry about it. That's my job," She handed him the wrapped bouquet. "Hope she likes them,"
He smiled again and looked down at her name tag. "Thanks Twinkle,"
"You're welcome--" She glanced down at the receipt with his name on it. "Kunj."
He waved as he let the door close behind him as he left.
Twinkle leaned her shoulders against the counter and sighed. "One cute guy--and he's in love with someone else,"

A few hours later Twinkle was getting ready to close up the shop as she locked the freezers and turned off the lights in the store room when the door opened again and she saw Kunj walk in; all the sparkle gone from his eyes, the smile faded away.
Then she saw the bouquet still in his hand and she winced.
"What's wrong?" Twinkle went up to him. She knew it was weird to be so friendly with a stranger but he just seemed so sweet.
"I--tried to give her the flowers but," he sighed. "I saw Alisha with Yuvraj, my best friend."
"Alisha? Is she the one you were going to give the flowers to?" Twinkle asked.
Kunj nodded as he put the flowers back on the counter. "I don't want a refund, but I just don't want them in my apartment. It'll just remind me of her."
Twinkle wished she could say something to make him feel better but instead she just rubbed his shoulders. "I'm sorry but seriously Kunj she's not worth this. I'm sorry if you think I'm being mean but I don't think it was love if you never really even talked to her. It takes more than just looks to fall in love,"
Kunj just smiled back wondering how a stranger was advising him on his love life, but she was right. Alisha didn't deserve him. He deserved someone much better. Alisha loved Yuvraj and Kunj could do nothing about it. And maybe this stranger, Twinkle, was right.
"Do you get so friendly with all your customers?" He asked after a few moments.
Twinkle smiled and shook her head. "Not usually. Just the ones who seem like they need a friend."
"I appreciate it. Oh are you closing?"
Twinkle nodded.
"Can I offer to take you home?" He asked. "I really need someone to talk to." He added.
"I actually live really close by,"
"Can I offer to walk you then?"
Twinkle nodded as she gathered up the bouquet he brought back in her arms. "Sure,"
"You're taking the flowers?" He asked.
She smiled. "I hate letting them go to waste and I'm in no way staying behind here to put them in a vase." He smiled finally and Twinkle felt relieved. "Let's go."
They both walked out of the flower shop and Kunj walked with her protectively towards her apartment building.
"Do these guys always stare at you?" He asked, glaring at all the bystanders.
Twinkle rolled her eyes. "You get used to it after awhile,"
"I wouldn't," He mumbled.
"Right--anyways here's my place," she stopped at a building.
"Okay," Kunj shuffled his feet while keeping his eyes on the ground, he wanted to say something to her but he couldn't think of what to say.
Twinkle loved the fact that he was so nervous around her. "I'll see you around?" She said finally.
He looked up and nodded. "Can I uh--have your number?"
Twinkle was surprised but definitely pleasantly. "Sure," she rambled off her number while he punched it into his phone. "Bye,"
"Bye," Kunj turned to leave while she watched him from the entry. He turned around and smiled. "Thank you Twinkle; for helping my realize that it was never love,"
"What wasn't?" she asked with a crease forming at her eyebrows.
"What I thought I'd have with Alisha." He smiled. "Guess I was meant to find someone else."
Twinkle waved again as he disappeared out of view. She was lucky to find a new friend, someone sweet and shy just like the guy she always imagined. Him being cute wasn't exactly a bad thing either, She just hoped this friendship went further than this and maybe turned into something more.
