Chapter 4A
After another long hectic day, Nandini was walking towards her locker. As she was walking, many thoughts ran through her head. She still was against her being the President. Yes, she needed a distraction from her life. But this? Being a President was a big responsibility to handle which she didn't want to. But she had no other choice than to accept it. And still, the look on Manik's face in the cabin this morning was something she didn't like. He did bully her a week back, but that didn't mean that she would do something as a payback to hurt him. She wasn't like that.
Reaching her locker, she opened it and collected some of the books she needed for studying. She started closing it but stopped short. She took out that one thing which made her heart stop, the one thing that was very close to her heart. It wasn't just some ordinary red book with some scribbled pages. It held some of her closest secrets and memories. Holding the book close to her chest, she jogged her memory.
She was drowning in her world when some loud footsteps echoing in the hallway brought her back to reality. Giving the book a final glance, she kept safely in her locker, reminding her to take it home the next day and closed it. A guy came running up to her and stopped in front of her catching his breath. After a few seconds had passed, he stood straighter and handed her a sheet of paper. She took it from him and glanced at it.
"Please don't tell me you won't accept it." He gave her an expectant look.
"Relax. And don't worry. I would've accepted it if even if you'd given this tomorrow." Nandini said, and kept the registration form in her bag. The guy heaved a relieved sigh and smiled,
"Thank God! Thanks, President. See you tomorrow!" He mock-saluted her. She smiled and bid him a goodbye.
When she reached the parking lot, she saw few cars still parked in there.
Strange, she thought, but brushed it off and sat in her car. Keeping her bag in the passenger seat, she reversed her car and left the parking lot towards home.
And just when she stopped her car in a signal, her phone beeped. Pulling it from her back pocket, Nandini saw that she'd received a message from an unknown number. It had some address and time. She frowned. Just as she was contemplating, her phone went off. It was from the same unknown number. This only made her deepen her frown. Sighing, she received her call.
"Hello," She said into her phone...
