Oh My Mata! I am back on this thread and it honestly feels like a reason for jubilation because I have never stuck to writing reviews for more than twenty episodes for any series that I have seen so far. When did this really happen? But again no hard and fast promises, lest I should not be able to keep them in future. Also I had meant to keep the previous thread as a disclaimer for I don't know how long will I run with this. Let us keep things homeostasis for now.
So we begin with The Shivaay Singh Oberoi running up and about trying to break Anika who seems to have taken the slot of his obsession. He makes the lawyer lie to her and run away with her hard-earned money. I really don't understand what sublime pleasures he is deriving from torturing her into submission majorly because it doesn't sit well with the man we were introduced with in the opening episode. Shivaay Singh Oberoi doesn't feel that people without a name or a background can merit a mention for themselves. When this one thought is out in the open and rules his roost, why is it that a girl with nothing on her has taken up his imaginations up by this severe storm? And seriously such childish pranks from a man like Shivaay is totally uncalled for. We have seen him to be a man who commands storms of various orders and this is the best he comes up with? I totally dislike attacking on the gender of a person but didn't the ancient generation put this in rock edicts that everything is fair in love and war? Shivaay has made this his personal Paanipat so what is stopping him from going all out to win a war that certainly carries his percentage of win? All he had to do was snap his fingers and break Anika to an extent that she never is able to stand up again. He could have had her arrested in false cases of sex trafficking or child abuse or anything actually. While my personal inhibitions do not stand by such heinous acts; thing is when you need to break someone you have to attack at the weakest point of their frames. Anika takes pride in being self-reliant and honest, why not snatch away that one thing that makes her walk with her held up high? Shivaay's almost childish and stupid pranks aren't really working well. As far as Saahil's custody is concerned then Anika can easily approach Mahila Aayog and plead her case to them. With their help Saahil's custody case would turn to her favor even if that means she will need to struggle a bit more. As far as her job is concerned then she can apply under the various government schemes that have been launched. Does Prime Minister's Skill India ring a bell to you?
Shivaay is acting stupid here. There are numerous ways Anika can crawl out of the pit that Shivaay is pushing her into. Also the way things are building it will cause massive degree of upheaval only in Shivaay's life as he'd be guilt trapped later on into mellowing down to Anika. And then like every other romantic couple out there; they'd fall in love and that would be it. A happily ever after story that has been done to death. I will again put it out clear that Shivaay and Anika have a lot of potential to be quite an unconventional stuff but they are being dragged down to nothing in general. They can still deal with it more realistically but I believe logic and common sense can never fetch then the desired TRP's. Had the case been otherwise Saap-Nevla and Makkhi-Machar wouldn't have ruled the idiot box!
Next was Om and his story. If I we thought that Shivaay and Anika were forced then this one takes the cake in being shoved down our throats. I don't really know if I should laugh or cry or go Dr. Sheldon Cooper on this one! Logic had been shredded to imitate an overcooked noodle and what was left had been tossed in fire to char them beyond recognition. So Omkara enters his new Art Studio only to find a dressed up girl awaiting him. Didn't that instigate anything in him? Anything at all? I mean let's do the math. This Art Studio had been zeroed down by Shivaay himself. And this man's obsessive love for his brothers is known world over...so you really think that he would not have ran a check on the premises especially when Om would be physically present there? Add to it Shivaay's over alert sense when it comes to Om and would he let him roam alone without security or a rain check of the place? Like really? And let us forget Shivaay, did Om not find it bizarre that a girl had been dancing in his Art Studio without giving him an explanation of any sort? This was the same Om who had hyper-active sense when Shivaay had been lying comatose in a hospital bed, this was the same Om who had smelled something fishy when the car deal had been taking place and now when things are so susceptive he doesn't even raises his eyebrows? Excuse me; I am not buying this concoction of all that is stupid and idiotic. This is not the kind of love story that I had signed up for Omkara and will certainly not stand by the same. If Shivika is forced down our throats then this one is being muddled in our systems without us asking for it.
And is Ishana even a con-artist or not? She looks like another Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada in making and I cannot tolerate that. A con-artist is scary because of his/her intelligence. They prey on the gullible victim's psyche, twisting it to their own advantage and then once their act is over they kill the remorse to take up another identity and zero on another victim. Ishana is anything but that. Had she really been the intelligent sorts she would have cooked up a brilliant story with certain elements of truth in it to lure Omkara into her trap. And she would have taken her own sweet time to win over his trust, add to it her own and then rip it down his throat and then be done with the same. She is jumping the gun and I am sorry this doesn't sit well with me. They even made Omkara give her a royal ignore when he had already been ogling at her dance moves. Where did character consistency go? Either he would have gawked at her or not, and then after the moment passes he asks no questions? Waah waah!!
Also Vrushika needs to tone down her act; she needs to be a bit more in ease with her character to look convincing in the role of this woman who boasts of brain. These open loopholes in Ishana are preventing me from liking her; a little more calculative and feline instinct in her with dollops of ruthlessness would make her so much more dangerous and add to the dynamics of Om and Ishana. As of now I am hitching my ride only on Soumya as Anika and Ishana seem to have disappointed me in ways more than one.
And finally the major drama that did unfold itself in the house of Oberois and trust me the central character of it all was Pinki. I really applaud this woman for being the perfect grey. She might have her own personal score to settle with Jhanvi, she might have her ambitions ruling her, she might hate Jhanvi for sharing such a beautiful relationship with her son...but even then she is someone who can shed these to protect her family and how. I loved it that she allowed Roop to believe that she had an upper hand all this while only to pull her down in the spiral and jacketed hell that ended with Tej throwing her out of the house. This woman is making it really hard to confine her in a label. It is difficult to decide whether she is complete villainy or a just a victim putting up the act of being so. She certainly wants Shivaay to take up the throne of the Oberoi Empire but she seems to have no qualms about him being protective of his brothers. Instead, if you remember, she insisted that they love each other the way they do. She doesn't really like Jhanvi in a way a sister would, but then she doesn't allow any harm to befall her. She might be caustic and ugly in her remarks but she never lets the feud of the family slip past the boundaries of their residence. She is a magnificent piece of puzzle and a lady that truly needs to be deciphered in depth. I eat my own words today and speak it out loud that I really like her. If she can continue being this grey...trust me it would be a treat to watch her so. The boys should have been there to witness the same!
Next thing that I really liked was subtle interplay of emotions between Tej and Jhanvi. I mean how is it that two people whose love has already died still find support in each other, even if that comes wordlessly. Jhanvi had constantly been looking at Tej to see if he believes her or not and Tej, not even for once, gave an indication that he doesn't. Again what went so wrong in their equations that things have come down to this? They clearly started their lives on a happy pastel note, so why did the painting of love turn so dark, so black and so ugly that it is not worth a glance. This is my OTP, I don't care about the way other love stories proceed as long as I get to see this one. Tejhanvi all the way!
Mrinal is gorgeous man...she has a face and a screen presence that hold your attention. So is Nikita Anand playing Pinki. She might not be that pretty but certainly holds attention. I loved, loved the two in the episode. Some more of this sisterly bond please CV's.
That one scene where Omkara was standing alone in the Art Studio was so hauntingly beautiful that I can't begin to mention the same. Add to it the background score carrying tones of despondence and the entire scene turned out to be prettier than the entire episode. It described Omkara so very well. He is a broken man standing in the shadows of all that is happy to the world. In that one scene he stood in front of golden lights carrying a heart that has been charred by black. That was such an artistic imprint. I loved it.
And yes, fire your editor. What was the need of adding those absurd VFX in Vrushika's dance segment? The editing was so blotched and haywire that it destroyed the dance of a dancer such as Vrushika. I think I speak for myself when I say so. And please give her a better stylist...in what universe neon yellow looks good with blush peach? And what was that home dcor that she was given in the name of earrings? Jhanvi kii honey waali bahu aur aisi styling, come on you can do better!
Where are Rudra and Soumya? Have you people forgotten that Soumya actually exists? Anyone people...or have you cast a spell of invisibility on her that she has gone POOF!
And kya re, who carries diamonds in her hair?? I believe Roop has hairs and not chidiya ka ghosla that she can hide diamonds in them so effortlessly without it peeking out of the corners of bun. Again, unta hii pheko jitna lapeta jaa sakey. Ye bohot zyaada tha!
Precap. Let us please skip that. I am done with so much of Anika. I'd take Tia over her scenes now. YES!
P.S. The spoiler regarding Pinki came true, so am I to believe that spoiler regarding Shivika marriage will also come true?? Please tell me otherwise kyunkii main isko nahi jhel sakti.
