IKRS Monday 11th July 2016 ep 301 My Take ~ Emotional Stitch

It's a popular saying a stitch in time save nine!.. dealing promptly with a minor problem will prevent it from developing into a more complicated or larger scale issue. A stitch also means to sew or finish off binding a piece of material . Stitch can also suggest suturing or close a gaping wound. The episode touches upon an emotional stitch that Dulari and Dhani both suffer from unfaithful spouses. But under the needle also comes Viplav and Anshuman as well. Pastimes, past mistakes, long gone misunderstandings emerge in the present times again. Seems like a procedure is required this time to deal with the still existing cancer of dying close bonds. The slow killing cancer has to be stopped before it spreads to other parts of familial bonds and infects grandchildren. The episode then to me is like a medical procedure for the treatment of two broken marriages. The symptoms of the disease have been long standing .In Dulari's case twenty five years and in Dhani's case five years. During the symptomatic stages the patients have suffered loss of contact with their husbands and both Vidha and Dhani have missed out on crucial times with their fathers.. namely Viplav and Anshuman..

Show of infection in the emotional disease in the patients becomes evident when Dhani and Vidha come across Viplav at the wedding; and Viplav has the timely bump with Anshuman in the market. In the next instance the consultant Viplav joins heads with Dhani, has a hurried case conference and seeks her help in the termination of the emotional melanoma. As in all illnesses, the patient has to be told of the diagnosis and the prognosis of the disease, so Viplav briefs Dhani and suggests treatment should start rightaway! the hardest part of the treatment is actually informing the patients about the disease .. put forward the stages of the disease and the treatment available. Each patient responds to the news about their disease differently depending upon the stage of the illness. Dhani is shaken by the fact that she suffers from emotional trauma. But is willing to comply to be part of the treatment soon after with the help of the consultant. She does visit her father in question? Anshuman , with the result she feels healing already.. her mother Dulari ,though is the difficult patient who denies out right she has a wasting away disease. At the best of times she resists help and believes her pain comes and goes and she will survive.. like she has done so in the past!

Integral part of serious illnesses is patient support and counselling, as the patient often feels bitter about their illness being exposed, especially when the patient wants to keep it private. But as part of the treatment Viplav the consultant wants Dhani to find out what could be the possible causes of pain in Dulari? they know Anshuman s reason why he never contacted dulari as he assumed her dead. But they needed to know what kept Dulari away from him? but Dulari rejects Dhani's counselling in the opening of the episode.. shows anger and bitterness at Dhani for going along with Viplav in identifying her illness which she doesn't want support for.But For patient's family to persevere with the patient is crucial.. as Dhani does with her highly strung mother. It is common practice for the patient to throw things back in the supporters face! Here the classic case is Dulari telling Dhani instead of asking her about why she left Anshuman? Dhani should perhaps answer Viplav's question as to why she walked out on him five years ago! Overall there is some give and take of support from each other between Dhani and Dulari.. for a patient during treatment does need reassurance too, so Dhani explains to her mother, she is on her side as some wounds fill by the passing of time ,others need a procedure which is painful but if given a chance the operation can remove the tumour of broken relationships! Dulari gives Dhani a piece of advice too.. a hint almost answer Viplav's question!

Dulari's illness is almost like a boon and will provide a remedy for.. her daughters less suffered illness in terms of a time limit ,nevertheless if not given timely therapy and treatment Dhani's illness to has the potential to become as serious an illness like her mothers. Besides this the illness also provides the consultant Viplav to exchange notes with patient support, Dhani.. in his office! Dhani comes to his room to return his washed laundry. What wife thing to do! He wants to know if she got anything out of her mother? but Dhani replies she is uncompromising. Viplav is inherently a sensitive person.. and he does speak up for his patient ,i.e Dulari, he reminds Dhani her mother suffered unimaginably that too! for a period of twenty five years she is bound to smart beyond their understanding.. after all she grown to live without him for all those Viplav suggests then wants to add like he did for five years. Dhani actually studies his face , this man that she loves, how he puts others first always! Dhani begins to feel she should forgive him.. for betraying her ? so hard to do.. how will she bring herself to forgive him? The strong reason Dhani has to forgive Viplav for his infidelity as she sees it .. soon comes into Viplav's room the living symbol of the love they have Vidha! It's her birthday tomorrow! Viplav being the doting father promises her many pressies and both father and daughter kiss.. Dhani watches .. surely this bonding between Viplav and Vidha . something that she missed out with her own father is now in her hands.. would she allow Vidha too many happy returns of the day with Viplav her dad ,or will Dhani hold the kamini issue against Viplav for the next twenty five year?? Dhani shudders at the prospect.. Viplav on the other hand , no way is he going to live his life in utter remorse like anshuman!

The flower fairy's birthday is one of the best form of treatment that is dished out to all grieving parties.. with gifts from her demon uncle ,cake and balloons and an exchange of somewhat tearful smiles between Viplav and Dhani..certainly shows good prognosis of the illness that Dhani suffers from! But then again the colour of Viplav's love is to wait for Dhani to let him into her heart again.. he doesn't believe in sledge hammering his way into her heart! So when Parshiya turns up with his elaborate arrangements for Vidha's street birthday party, Viplav makes a graceful exit with tremendous grace and dignity. That which does not go unnoticed by dulari and she turns to Dhani and comments on Vidha being over the moon about her birthday party and the attention she was getting! Then Dulari says to Dhani, with much emotion on her face.. she noticed the tears in Viplav's eyes today, and she is sure he has committed no wrong! He has not wronged her..these words are useful for Dhani whose heart is already softening towards Viplav..due to his good deeds! #But then preaching forgiveness to others is easy than actually carrying out the ordeal. Anshuman comes bearing birthday gifts for Vidha.. Dulari turns them down! sharply.. refuses the treatment with abrasive language, both her daughter and granddaughter are not in the habit of going for expensive gifts! She bids him to take them back! With the view to hurt him! Dhani sees how strongly her mother suggests treatment to her issues with Viplav but herself rejects her father's attempts at making amends for his past failings.. not even Dhani can intervene her mother has made it her prerogative only! thus Anshuman is leaves sadly.

This lion is brave heart himself, giving up is not for him ! and what's more he will include Anshuman as part of treatment to cure kaki! Viplav stops Anshuman in his tracks, and asks to wait, tells him straight he may be younger then him, but since he is Dhani's father ,he wants to explain that kaki suffered for twenty five years.. she will not forgive him easily, he will need to give her support and win her with sensitivity.. him walking away from her now will not be conducive to her healing.. he needs to return and explain his stance fully and not be put off by her rebuttal fight her anger.. treat all as part of her illness that he has caused her! Viplav warns him not to repeat the same mistake of being oblivious to what caused her to stay away from him.. Viplav argues if Anshuman feels that he is in the right than go back to Dulari and clear her doubts and restore her! he should do away with the vanquished attitude and fight for his wife and daughter! With faith in his love which if its true will get him victory. He is about to leave. But Dhani hears Viplav's conversation, with her father .. she wonders, he is doing so much for her family , she's not sure if she can justify herself anymore for keeping the truth from Viplav any longer.. may be she should come clean with Viplav..

Parshiya reckons today is a happy occasion may be he should tell Dhani how he feels , but he defers it and is knee deep with party s arrangement. Dhani's worried about how he will foot the bill for such n extravaganza! He replies flippantly and wants Dhani to go inside and rest!

The greatest gifts for humans are their bonds and relationships.. for Dhani the presence of her father ,for Viplav the knowledge ofvidha as his daughter .. for anshuman a the gift of finding his long lost family!Dhaani comes back home and asks Dulaari what is she doing? Yes as inside the house dulari sorts Vidha's presents. Viplav brings into the room.. Anshuman the stiff dose to cure dulari..To relieve the pain of the receiving excruciating treatment Viplav as the consultant also as the son she never had! holds dulari's hand and begs her to hear anshuman out if she wants to get better!. Anshuman and dulari are deliberately throw in at the deep end! either they will swim or drown! Anshuman shows respect to dulari who stands with her back to him..he assures her , he will leave ,but at least tell her why she left? Viplav gives Dhani a pleading sided gaze.. that is the question he begs from her and she withholds to this day.. anshuman tells her he has been mourning her death since twenty five years! Duklari confronts him and mocks him.. some mourning he has done by remarrying and by having a daughter too! Men cannot wait to remarry! and start life again! Dhani and Viplav can relate to dulari's grief, it is so much like theirs! this was news for them too!Anshuman says I didn't marry again...Dulaari is speechless..

All these years she got it wrong! brought upon her illness by feeding herself sick on a misunderstanding! Anshuman proclaims before all he has the one wife whose name is dulari! Dulari again rejects the treatment , he calls him a liar! and mentions she knows about his daughter Piya!! He clarifies the child was an orphan which he thought the gods granted him as a replacement for a dead dulari! Emotions run high as revelations take place! But aushuman does ask dulari a crucial question and blames her too.. for keeping him away from his own daughter Dhani for twenty five years? She knew he was alive but she still donned the semblance of a widow?? Why ? dulari hasn't got a leg to stand on and Dhani and Viplav weep over the sad situation their parents find themselves in..

Well the whole episode of ironing things out..getting Dulari and Dhani treatment on the way to recovery..is courtesy of the jack of all trades Viplav .T.

Hamlet53 12.7. 16

precap: Dulari asks ansuhman didn't his mother tell him about her. Anshuman replies, she showed me her saree and said she had drowned in the floods. Dulari says she kicked her out of the house when she was pregnant with Dhani. Anshuman says we have lived all these years in misunderstanding and says if she would have come back to him then they wouldn't have seen this day...

UnRESS ..
Hello Hammie!!😳
waah waah such mouth watering take dear,,, so so familiar re seems I'm sitting n attending my pt n doing my usual wrk,,,😛 thnx fr making ths even more special fr me n Joy,,, Joy even I dun kno much about ths wound thing re,, it comes under Surgery na,,😛 bt they say the primary goals to suture wonds timely are:
1. Closing dead space

2. Supporting and strengthening wounds until healing increases their tensile strength

3. Approximating skin edges for an aesthetically pleasing and functional result

4. Minimizing the risks of bleeding and infection

n that's wat ths great writer Hammie,,the pride of our forum taught us n elaborate to us today making ths track even more meaningful,, more palatable,, I find even positivity for dhani's behavior too,,, wch is real hard in current scenario,, bt Hammie idk how u capable of doing ths,, but ths positivity dose we all your readers are addicted to really!!

ur actually bang on Hammie the most difficult step is to councell the pt regarding the seriousness of illness n make him/her realise how it is crucial to accept the disease,, mostly the problem is Denial of the pt regarding the severity of illness n thats the hinderance in their CURE!! denial compromises the compliance of treatment,,,
that's wat Dulari is doing now,, not onli denying but even after listening whole story she s in denial being egoistic n Dhani's inspiration is always Dulari fr obvious reasons,, Dhani has inherited ths stubbornness impulsiveness n lack of judgement frm Dulari indeed,, n now I see a great responsibility fall on Dul's shoulder fr further making or breaking her daughter life,, whatever action she'll take in her life,, wud certainly inspire Dhani,, onli preaching Dhani s not going to make her daughter's life a rose's bed whch she s responsible for ruining somewhr n now dhani following her footstep,, Dularis responsible fr Vidha's fate too,,😕 she needs to take the responsibility n act wisely,, 😃

Hammie thnk u fr ths hardwrk sweetheart,, Luv U rockstar!!❤️

n now epi collage!!

Hammie hammie hammie hammie, finally I m back to call u many times,no load of houseful of visitors.phew.
It is a brilliant take.

Such a wonderful title u gave.take se hospital wali smell aa raha hain.eager to read nusipas comments too.
This is such a perfect thing as a title for d whole track,d reunion track,"The emotional stitch".stitches r to b given to join two RAW surfaces.so that there appropriate circulation is provided and the wound can get healed. it is all about old wounds which lacks a raw surface so what we do is make d wound margin raw by a blade n make it bleed then join d two surfaces.d same thing is happening to THEIR old wounds.dulari n dhani.God d healer himself has made their old wounds raw by d face offs.now it is time to unite them.a stitch in time saves nine, yes there was no stitch in time but better late than never.

I loved ur beginning.n what an way to interprete things on a doctor's point of view. ⭐️ ⭐️ .its amazing,d way ur brain works.some disease runs in family.impatience is d disease divered from mother to daughter.nothing can b done unless d healer is strong and adamant to heal.d jack of all trades our viplab.I loved d way u called him d consultant.baarbs will b happy, she made viplab a cardiogist in her FF she left unfinished.see titu vipu as a healer with great patience kaise lagte hain?finish ur ff.sukoon de hume.

I loved these lines a lot.The greatest gifts for humans are their bonds and relationships.. for Dhani the presence of her father ,for Viplav the knowledge of vidha as his daughter .. for anshuman a the gift of finding his long lost family!it really is.beautiful.

What I love about current storyline and ur interpretations on it is they r well focused on seperation, single parenting and d way a child suffers cz of this.its one of d common occurings in society.sabki patience level itna low hote ja raha hain that they r overlooking d fact that their children will suffer from d poison of being in a broken family.something that leaves a permanent impression on d childs mind.something that is not healed by any stitch later.

New word learnt.Emotional melanomamalignant melanoma padi thi.Google google on d net, tell me d meaning of which sounds so great. 😆 .
Thanks hammie, food for thought.ur takes make me THINK,a lot.

Abhi posting a video I can relate to ur take.for baarbs n u.

Is it possible that the daughter and mother have the same fate. Is it possible that it's happening. Now fully understand Dulari to treat the Danh. How protected from all ugly in this world. She wanted to forgive Danh Viplav because she would not Vidha growing up without a father.

Dear Hammie...👏this is a master piece n my favorite take of yours...so well you linked medical terms with relationships yaar...that is soo soo true when the wounds are open n if not treated at the right time then it becomes far more dangerous than before. When the diagnosis is done then the treatment should be immediately started. In this entire post reminded me of my mom...as I belong to a doc family 😃 Still I would consider the best post of yours...how well you could relate it to the medicine.

There are stages as you rightly point out...one is to diagnose next is to inform the patient about their problem, then comes to the solution part. Both Dhani n Dulari need someone to guide them in the right direction which is given by the counselor ie Viplav...I loved the fact that he never gave up nor did he allow AK to give up either.

You have rightly pointed out by saying Dulari got herself a self made wound which brought her suffering for 25 long years...n viplav was right by pointing out that if they ie dhani n himself don't sort out their mess then they too shall equally suffer plus their children will have to face the consequences...one mistake a parent makes has a seriously affects children's mind. Dhani is slowly able to understand what exactly Viplav meant. The way she suffered will she be able to make her own daughter suffer or not is the question.

Now that AK cleared the MU from his side, Dulari n Dhani are now clear with the fact that what they have thought of him was not right n Dul jumped to some conclusion. When dulari n dhan itry to make each one understand that their resp spouses are not wrong then it applies to them as well...its easier to preach than to practice.

Vidha n viplav are blessings on the earth who know how to unite people...Viplav is so much dignified these days...he understands that even Parshiya wants to celebrate Vidha's b'day...The happiness he had when he came to know that his flower's b'day is on the following day it was magical. Viplav is a doctor for me...as he solves n cures the wounds ...ie he helps people to get united n sorts out the MU's...it is not his job to do so but still as a wonderful human being he applies balm to sooth people's hearts which has been hurting for a long long time...my huge respect goes to him.

Hammie I loved this post...so I'm going to save this post n re read it again...very very touching post it is...this one can be applied in general so hats off to you for this wonderful post...Thank you for this wonderful, brilliant post ...tarif mai jitne shabd hai woh sab milane wala post hai...Till this take care.

Hey Hammie!
Long time no see! Hey simple2Joy.. As promised, here I am.

Firstly I must say I have missed reading your analysis Hammie. I have had various reasons for not reading or commenting but parking those to one side thanks to simple2Joy, I am here to read, absorb and think, think and think some more.

I love your analysis. As always a completely unique spin on the characters and the intricate detail of what is going on with them.

I love the show so much. I think I love post leap IKRS more than pre leap. I find the tales being told much more complex and clever. I hated the constant-ness of the lets get Dhani and break Viplav and Dhani up rot that had set in pre leap. It started with Raja and his awful family and then swiftly moved on to kam and Dadi bua.

Anyway, I love the show and no doubt I'll get flamed for saying it, but there you have it.. I do.

So, to the episode. I love Viplav for being so persistent. He is heartbroken himself, doesn't understand what made Dhani leave, not tell him about their child. But, despite all of the things she's done wrong to him, he still wants to make things right for her and her family,

The way he loves and cares for not only Dhani and Vidha but also Dulaari is lovely. I mean really lovely. He loves them all, with his big heart and even though he is left on the outside he shows his unconditional love so clearly, I love Viplav for what he stands for and more so post leap as it seems to have made him into a better more loving bigger hearted man.

Dulaari can see the love and care he has but Dhani has built such a big wall around her to keep out the hurt that she is also keeping out any chance of happiness.

She is also hurting, she has replayed that scene, over and over for five years. Not just that scene but she Heard kam say what Viplav had also said earlier that he should have listened to his family and marrying her was a mistake.

So here she is five years later, face to face with the man of her dreams, the love of her life. She doesn't hate him, at all, she loves him but he is married and has a child and wife. She is still the same Dhani putting him and his needs ahead of her own and even her child's. She knows if she says anything Viplav will leav kam and be with her in a flash. She doesn't want to be the other woman, nor does she want to be responsible for taking a father away from her son.

The anushuman Dulaari story is a chance for her, like a crystal ball, showing her what hers and vidha's future will be. She has a chance to not repeat the mistakes her mother made. Her fear is perpetuating the myth that a child doesn't need his or her father, that a mum alone is enough.

It's honestly fascinating and I love how you describe Viplav as they consultant, trying to cure Dhani and her mother of their ills. I love that he isn't giving up.

I can see things from Dhani's perspective totally. She was wrong when she left because what she heard kam say was not true, but as a result of her running away, her misunderstanding has come to pass like a self fulfilling prophecy. She is now faced with 'proof' that she was right to have left. Viplav married kam and had a child. She doesn't know exactly what happened but her worst fears came true. And now, she is fighting her own feelings and needs and those of her child to keep Viplav at arms length. I can also see her softening, but it's almost like the more she feels the higher and thicker the wall gets.

I haven't been here for so long, so apologies for the rambling nature of this post. It's a bit all over the place.

I have missed you Hammie and I stopped reading for the wrong reasons. I'll try and be here to support you and your amazing work as often as I can.

Lots of love and hugs
Xxx

Ps - my typos haven't got any better so apologies for the many that I'm sure you will find 😉
