The show has a lot of surprising similarities to Mahabharat. here is the current list
-- Tej - Dhrisrashtra -- older son, wants to hold on the power blindly - by hook or crook
-- Tej's wife - Gandhari -- loves her kids, blind to every thing else.
-- Tej's younger brother (IDK his name) -- Pandu "impotent" and powerless
-- Pinky (brother's wife) -- kunti -- very agressive to get her son his rights
-- Shivaaya - yudhishtar -- oldest of all, but the son of the younger brother. cares for the family wants to keep everyone together and avoid conflict
-- Omkaara -- Duryodhan -- younger than Shivaaya but oldest son of the current power broker, Tej.
-- Bua -- like Shakuni -- wants to destroy the family from the inside.
-- Daadi -- Bhishim - dedicated to the daadaji's dream

Only difference is that Omkara cares for Shivaya and wants to stay away from the business. Rest is along those lines. If it follows the mahabharat path eventually, the bromance is not here to stay. We have watched enough ramayan in soaps, now it is mahabharat's turn.😊

If you haven't guessed so far, mahabharat is my all time favorite book and study. 😆

Hey, Katori 😉

Na, I'd say the similarities to Mahabharat are more superficial than anything. As you yourself pointed out one of the main differences: Omkara's character, he's devoted to his brothers and not interested in the business, not even in the least. Also, the comparison of Shivaay to Yudhistr doesn't really hold up, does it? From what I know, Yudhistr was "big" on morals/laws etc... whereas Shivaay is crooked. He can do anything for his family, even to satisfy his own ego, and breaking moral codes isn't that difficult for him - unlike Omkara.

Jhanvi, too, doesn't seem to be blind to everything going on around her, tbh. We didn't get that good an insight to her character, as of now, but she seems like a sharp woman. As for Shakti - I wouldn't be too sure about him. He seems subdued and guilt ridden due to something, but as they see, still waters run deep. I think there's more to him than meets the eye.

Anyway, I have to keep this short, lol xD Have to rush off. Eitherway, if they ruin the brothers' relationship (and I don't mean showing tensions and other difficulties, but really ruining it) - then that was that for me. The show's essence is the brother's love for each other, imho, if that gets lost along the way, no use to watching it for me 😆

I think due to current negative streaks in Shivaya's character are making him look more like Duryodhan but the linage wise, he is more like Yudhishtar. He has also promised to keep the family together.

Omkaara fans are not going to like his character to be compared to Duryoudhan but he is the son of "blind" parents.

The promo's indicated a power struggle - so one of them is going to turn "aggressive" (not totally negative).

Hi Ami -- Current relationship of the brother is the setup at the beginning of the show. The show is about a power struggle as all promos indicated. Let us see how the relationships change as the show progresses.

I also think Shivaaya is not related by blood to the family - the way he harps about importance of identity and family name.

Only thing I don't want -- CVs turn the FL into bitchy women cause all the rife and men, the innocent creatures, caught hapless amid the cat fights raging around them.

their are many twist n turns
Bt still comparison is wrong as we still don't know anything about shivay parents and as per promo I guess none of the bros will be shown negative that for sure n more of mahabharat I m watching hum saath saath h type serial here
Both omkara n rudra character are written like that only as salman n saif respectively while shiv character is like asr n most of the toons which gul show in one of their leads so trio will never hate each other for sure

The power struggle is one of the plotlines, but the story is mainly about the brothers - that's what I have gathered, till now, also from all the promos. It's always been about how the brothers would keep the family together through their own love for each other. Also, the "comparison" some promos have drawn toward Ramayan, whether apt or not, indicated that it'd be more about the brothers' love as I think that's what you find in the Ramayan (one of the main things) - love, respect and loyalty of the brothers.

I really doubt that Shivaay is not a real Oberoi, and I don't want any such twist 😆 He harps about this, yes, but that's why Anika will be opposite him: she doesn't possess any of that which he thinks is important. That's how he'll change his outlook on these things by progressing with Anika, not through anything that'll affect him this personally. At least, I hope so 😆 Where's the fun in both of them having "nothing", at the end? 😛

Bottom line: I don't want any Mahabharat here, I'd hate that. The premise doesn't really fit 😕 But that's just me, lol 😆

I can relate to that but cannot agree fully with it...
Pandu wasn't powerless and Shakti has been drowned in guilt or not that isn't clear as of now, he really seems something else.
Jaanvi doesn't blindly trust on everyone whereas as Pinky isn't the ideal mother like Kunti..Pinky is kind of selfish , she is hungry for power, kunti wasn't...
The most important thing...I can't ever imagine or think Om as Duryodhan, he wanted power and morals didn't exist for him whereas as for Om , his morals and truth matters the most for him apart from his brothers
