Kidnapping tracks are 'trending' on Indian television [SR Mentioned]

Ever imagined a show without it's leading lady? A Yeh Rishta without Akshara orSwaragini without Swara...

Well, get used to it as all your favourite shows are churning out the same old tried and tested (read exciting and mind boggling) Kidnapping Drama in their on going tracks! And no prize for guessing who's being kidnapped... The otherwise overpowering/ #YouDontWannaMessWithHer/ the fearless all rounder/ the family binder/ the self-sacrificing devi/ Miss know-it-all/ aadarsh bahu/ the karta dharta of the show...

Indian television has some kind of an obsession with playing around the cliches. Women are often kidnapped in daily soaps so that their (otherwise invisible) knights in shining armour can portray their heroism (and get some footage, for heaven's sake!) and rescue their damsel in distress, albeit filmi style!

We compiled a list of few such shows that are currently experimenting with this never-seen-before, novel concept...

1. Twinkle from Tahsan-E-Ishq

Twinkle recently got kidnapped and the drama on the show has gone up ever since. There are also speculations over the entry of a new villain, who, supposedly has kidnapped Twinkle!

2. Swara and Sharmistha from Swaragini

Only a few months back, Ragini was a very self-centered girl who went all out to achieve what she wanted. She kidnapped Swara and she did not even spare her own mother. How can you kidnap your own mother? (But that's about the track after all)

3. Soumya from Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.

Soumya had been accidently kidnapped by Harman. Harman, who had set out to kidnap Surbhi, accidently picked up Soumya. Fans just loved this sequence as they finally got to see some romance bloom between Harman (Vivian Dsena) and Soumya (Rubina Dilaik).

4.Tanu from Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki

Rishi decides to kidnap the love of his life. During Tanu's wedding, Rishi gets her drink spiked. She falls unconscious and he wraps her in a mat! He then carries her out of the house all rolled up. Definitely, one of the strangest kidnappings we have seen!

5. Akshara from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Well, this is an upcoming twist on the show. Goons are going to try and kidnap 'someone' but they accidentally kidnap Akshara. Very similar to Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki!

So many kidnappings! Where are the cops ?!
