Why is everyone so dramatic?

Not one character is subtle, everyone is just OTT! Everyone just feels like caricatures, and nobody is particularly relatable. No one is forcing me to watch this show, but I think the impact of this show would be so much more if the characters weren't so dramatic to the point where everything starts to seem a bit cartoonish and too heavy headed. Like both mothers (and the aunt) are complete villainous idiots, Shivai isn't an Arnav or Maan, but instead leaps and bounds more egotistical, even in his mannerisms (what the hell is up with that hair thing he does?). Omkara is too emo, and Rudra is just a playboy. Nobody seems to have multiple shades or layers, they're either good or bad, asshole or not (and the vast majority fall into the former category). Gul needs to tone it down a lot for this show to connect like Geet or QH season 1 or IPKKD season 1 did. What do you guys think?

I agree with u. I think the love story and the screen time of the leads aka Shivaay and Anika are taking away from the actual storyline. I am sorry I like Om bt really if they gona show him talk about love so much I am gona die of boredom. Rudra is actually a little better coz he is fun to watch. Bt these cvs have got to start showing these 2 brothers away from their house and each another. Give them a darn storyline for gods sake and create tracks for them. SP is banking on Nakul's popularity to hook viewers than that is fine but show his love story but than u dnt show Anika and make a storyline for her all the time whilst ignoring what u promised fans. Enough of showing her bechari life story we get it she is struggling. Bt we as viewers are also struggling watching hotties like Om and Rudra being sidelined whilst watching the grand love story that most are probably fast forwarding. Its too soon for there to be such a focus on any love story in a show. U built up scenes. Here the more they show anika and shivaay the more I wana see of Om and Rudra and what they do. The problem with this whole show is that Nakul and Surbhi have amazing chemistry their scenes are hot bt its just too soon for such focus to be on them. Also Nakul is acting well. But his character is we have seen that, loved that and u no match for your predecessors. They should get Shivaay to shave coz Nakul looks hot clean shaven not like this gorilla bear, plus I am tired of his grandfather clothes. He looks ugly in them and like an old man. My granddad wouldn't be caught dead in his outfits. Nice formal pants and shirts- plain simply colors would look nicer on them. Not the horrendous colours they sometimes put him in. Instead of his vocal pt being the love story they should show abit more of his personality and what he is truly like. My fav scene of him was when we heard his fiance gives him meds on the side. Show us an actual character built him, create some confusion into the love story as well. Coz its a given at the moment who he will end up with. I really enjoy the scenes btw Anika and Shivaay and I actually love Anika's story but it has to be balanced out u can't just show them only. This is going to be a major downfall for the show if they continue like this.

I don't necessarily agree with this. I mean, the point is to have something different than what we have already seen. I mean, if Shiv was like Arnav, then we would complain that nothing is new here. I think they are trying to show that just because you have money doesn't mean you are perfect. They are showing the characters as positive but with different traits. I like how arrogant Shiv is because that is what is realistic. I mean, a rich guy just falling in love with his secretary or middle class girl after a few episodes is just blahh overdone. I also like how Om had a back story and they are building off of that. I mean people who are rich can have serious issues with depression, stress, etc. And rudra is young. He is the one that is still trying to find himself and so he is a flirt. I am liking how it is going so far with the characters.

Shivaay is now being an asshole... bohot ho gaya...I haven't watched the last epi yet still the WU made me think that 'Shivaay u r behaving like shit man...' 🤢
I really don't wanna talk abt him now!!

But for Omkaara I beg to differ... he has beautiful shades about his character... he is emotional but he is mature and practical as well... he can be angry as hell at one moment but then he can be calmed down with just a warm genuine hug by his bros!!
Kunal is doing really really well in this role... he switches his expressions so swiftly yet so nicely... he masks all he feels... and that is what makes our heart go out to him...
He has a past...a vulnerable dark past... he is still having a number of issues is life... but his take to life isn't like the OTT Gul heroes...mujhe zindagi se nafrat hai and all...
He loves n values people close to him... he speaks less... but whenever he does... he manages to worm his wah in ur heart... he fears to share his life with anyone... he is just happy in his small world... he is just happy being with his sculptures... he worships his work... he can be a damn annoying person for ppl like Tej because he speaks less.. but he speaks the truth right on their faces... he can be a balm to ppl like Janvi because he knows that she had been and is still going thru...
He has multiple facets... Gul bas written his character well... she just needs to tone him a lil but more... make him a lil but more 'on the mark' part of the show... otherwise he phenomenal!!

Rudra is perfect... he is like that because he has been shielded by all the problems of life... he is pampered rotten and he is the apple of the eye to everyone... though a playboy but he is really cute!!
I like hum a lot... he adds spice to the show!!
Anika.. she tries but she is not able to make the chemistry work... I am not really happy wid the way their story is going... she either needs to be replaced or she needs a workshop to know the depths of acting, displaying emotions thru facial expressions... the small tidbits of enacting comic and angry expressions... and obviously she needs to work a lot on her appearance...

Gul... if u r reading this... plz work on the characters... it is badly needed!!

Abt this part I m glad that u point it out I found ANIKA so expressionless and she looks quite fat I mean overweight in front of Nakul which makes her look older then him ...the reason behind this is her wardrobe and make up and over all getup need to be change for me surbhi is not acting well at all ...in order to show her strong and confident she ended up looking expressionless in swimming pool scene it is Nakul who perform really well and safe the scene but surbhi she is either not acting well and looks quite overweight and older.

my wish is that the focus should be less on the love track and more on the bros. More of Rudra and Om and the bros
