It was too much for him to take, understand and digest what the gynecologist just said. Though he doesn't have any plans of kids with her as his marriage was unwanted for him, it's his responsibility to take care of her in this situation which she is facing from the past few days.

That morning Rey entered the room searching for a file for the project he is following, but he was not expecting what he would see in the room. His wife, Taani was twisting in pain clutching her lower abdomen; when he approached her he saw her face wet with sweat and tears and his heart clenched. He scooped her in his arms and rushed to the hospital, he couldn't see her in so much pain. He silently prayed that she should be alright. He was thinking it as some gastric problem but he was highly mistaken.

It was evening and he did not understand how to approach her and tell her that she will go through her womb surgery. A girl dreams a lot about her marriage and her family, what if she breaks down? "Rey! You smiled at me!" she said in muse. His real smile spread on his face reaching his eyes, she amused him.

"What happened to me?" she asked in a small voice.

"Nothing, you need to undergo a small surgery tomorrow morning." He tried to be cool

Her face was blank "Surgery of??" she asked confused.

"your womb..." he said gathering courage.

"means they will remove my womb?" her eyes started to brim with tears and her heart started to panic.

"no!" he half yelled

"then?" she whispered

"an extra tissue layer is irritating it causing you so much pain, so they will remove that..." he said finally.

"oh!" she said.

There was a long silence

"It feels really nice..." she started

"for your surgery?" he asked

"talking to you..." she said in a small voice.

He then remembered their equation, but he can't ignore her as of now like he was doing from the past few months. He was zoned out while she broke his trance

"It's ok Rey, you don't need to force yourself to be a part of this. I will call my parents."

That broke him He just looked at her when tears build in his eyes within fraction of seconds and he hugged her tight. Tears squeezed out from his eyes and fell on her shoulder when she gripped his shoulders.

"I am sorry!" her voice came out shaken

"shhh" he hushed her and held her tighter, the tension between them flew away. He just realized what is important in his life. He decked her under the sheets after sharing a moment, assuring her he will be there for her and they will go through this together.
