I don't think there was any gay undertone in that Razia Sultana song. The director meant it. I guess, those days it was common for queens to keep sakhis. You can see the queen was missing the king, who's probably outside the country, and the sakhi was trying to bujhao her havas ka aag.

The woman probably found her physically attractive and liked her singing which I find to be a Compliment.

Not just in "those" days yeh sab to aaj kal bhi chalta hai across the length and breadth of small town India. Most of it is innocent or naturally happening or they think there is nothing wrong with it. Its the urban guys (like us) who are the creeps and have purposeful malicious intents, in my opinion based on general observation.

I don't know if anyone found my post objectionable. I felt the staring business creepy, irrespective of the gender. Nowhere have I implied that homosexuality is creepy/weird. I'm a staunch supporter of LGBT and believe in "live and let live". *PEACE*

If you watch the songs from back in the day, they all seem to have a ton of homosexual undertones. 😆
