Welcome back to my thread guys, it must be, by now, out in the open that my rendezvous with Hotstar is on and I am sacrificing both my sanity and data pack to watch the series...so a little bit of logical scenarios in the same is what I would ask as a respite for all that I've done so far. 4Lions you better be listening.
So let us begin with. Okay I had seen a few of my friends go volcanic over Shivaay's MCP behavior towards Anika. I hadn't seen the episode back then I thought it might be all ballistic and caustic on his part but I found it to be different if not toned down.
Pinki would obviously create that damned ruckus as Tia is a sure shot way of guaranteeing Shivaay's hold over the property. So her stand is explainable but then so is Shivaay's. Don't get me wrong I am not defending him over his hurling of invectives at any point. He was rude to a point that it was caustic and he needs to apologize for his misconduct but you need to look at the bigger picture as well.
Shivaay is someone who has never seen love or its colloquial terms survive to its full term. Just the day before he had been ranting how name, money and power have taken a deep root in them; how can you expect him to shake that off in a second? His inhibitions stem from the facts that he has seen growing up. If he is acidic in nature then it is because that is what he has been fed so far. And his inability to trust Anika over all that happened is nothing very new or unheard of. We humans have an instant craving to dismiss the other as a fraud and imposter up until we see it for ourselves that they are not. Let us not forget that Shivaay is a businessman and business in modern times is nothing but a war waged and won with mind. And a person constantly involved in unscrupulous ways of the world can hardly trust anyone without putting them through a test of fire. Shivaay here is one example of the same. He trusts his brothers because he knows and feels the fabric of their being, if he trusts Tia it is because she has been tested. Anika is an untested, unwarranted pulp that is in front of him, how can you expect him to put his faith on someone whom he hasn't dragged in fire so far? And there was also a furor of sorts that said she is a kuda' of the street and belongs there. Are we forgetting that though Shivaay holds name, lineage and power in utter contempt, this is what he imbibed from the poisonous environment that he has been bred in? The reason why he hasn't turned toxic is because he taken these fatal ingredients in him, added to his character, mind and soul has kept his heart free of the same.
If indeed Anika is for him, then she will have to work her way to his heart. Before which there is no trust, simply the criminal breach of the same. Shivaay is rude and calculative and mean because that is how you function as corporate shark devouring your opponents. His brothers don't mind because he sheds this coat before he meets them but that is an exclusivity reserved just for Om and Rudra and not for others. If they indeed want to partake of the same they will have to prove themselves worthy. He cuts others open in an attempt to stitch himself back. It is going to be a long way before he can realize that even if one is able to transmit the virus of hate into other, the original one stays intact deep in you. Shivaay has by passed the phase of tender love completely...he will need all the time to go through that. He can love with all that he has but before doing so he wants to see for himself the person he is offering himself to deserves him or not. So don't take it on Shivaay as of yet, he is a broken man and it will take some time for him to fix himself. I have to make special mention of Nakul here. His character is layered over once or twice, there is nothing more yet he puts up strong portrayal of the same. I am going to enjoy Shivaay more all thanks to Nakul. My only problem is that he mumbles his dialogue a bit, apart from this one blaring fact...the guy is really good with his skills.
Anika on the other hand is true survivor. Shivaay wasn't wrong when he said that this girl had survival instinct in her. Being a survivor doesn't mean you wear the cuts and scars on your sleeve. It doesn't mean that you cry it out. And it doesn't mean it cannot hurt you. What survival means is to have a fear constantly, embracing pain, crying out in agony and yet not allowing any of that to dampen your spirits of soaring high. Anika doesn't cry because crying your pain out lessens the intensity of the same. The moisture of the tears can wash over the fire of pain and Anika cannot permit that to happen. Her fears, her pain are what keep her going. If she cries out loud chances are the zeal to fight back might diminish and that would leave her at cross-roads knowing not where to go. Anika is here to fight, to claw her nails deep and win against all that is threatening to hold her back. She cannot cry, not until she sees the fruition of her hard labor. I like Surbhi as Anika. She can switch between being a strong girl to a vulnerable damsel but she still need to work on showing emotions where she needs to be numb. She isn't able to portray high-octane scenes of emotional turmoil and that leaves you wanting for some more on her part.
Coming to Om now. We didn't have much of him in the episode TBH, but there were two sequences that deserve special mention. One being that he understands the predicament Shivaay is going through. He didn't go about pestering Shivaay about his wrong choices; rather he is sitting back and waiting for him to unfold all by himself. He understands the psyche of his brother and waits with the patience of a hunter to correct things thereafter. Second one with Rudra. Om is at his intellectual best with Shivaay as that is what the latter understands and can express; while with Rudra he switches to being a partner in crime. Om is flexible that way and maybe is the reason why we like him in unison so much. (The guy is mine, just saying!) Kunal has improved so much from his first outing without a doubt...but a little more polishing of emotional scenes and he will shine more.
Rudra, the adorable lad won me over. He is so freakin' adorable!! He reminds me of my younger brother so much. Both are equivalent nautanki' and dramebaaz' and have this knack of inviting trouble to be solved by their elder counterparts. Rudra is character that is written and enacted with a lot of heart. He is what you would expect you younger brother to be. A cute nautanki' whose back you have to watch every now and then. He was angry, well superficially, at this older brothers for scolding him and so he stormed off the house knowing very well that the two bouncer of brothers would come looking for him. His Devdas mode in the club was too cute. He didn't want to indulge in a fight but when he saw his brothers come up he knew there wouldn't be scratch one him. The poor lad forgot that older siblings come to your help only when they have had the first hand pleasure of seeing you thrashed left, right and center. And staying true to that Om and Shivaay enjoyed the first four punches that landed on Rudra with a beer in hand. No wonder our Ruddy boy was miffed with his older ones. Leenesh is adorable as Rudra, I don't think anyone could have played it better than him.
After having enjoyed Rudra being thrashed, Om and Shivaay make it to the center of action with all the #Swag in the world. Did you actually notice how freakin's sexy they looked??????? Man I nearly died and went to heaven only to return and admire them some more. And the ending note where the three posed as Charlie's Male Angels was perfect. Hey someone make a siggie on it already, I will flaunt it in my dabba! Man they give you such #SquadGoals and they've got #Swag. The ObBros are love! Nuff said. I mohabbats them. Bas.
Dadi is as usual a rockstar. That is the lady after my heart. Cheers to Rockerstar Dadi.
Navina is as horrible as it could get. They style her well so that she isn't an eye sore but the moment she opens her mouth I want to stuff an entire crab in her.
Jhanvi's chandelier earrings were so damn pretty. I want one for myself now. They are a must have in your collection, I just love her stylist.
And I want a really dildaar friend who wouldn't mind recharging my net pack with unlimited data. Any takers??
