Suhasini slapped Adarsh hard, because she couldn't bear the audacity of her son accusing his father of falling in his esteem and respect. Because whatever is bad about Manohar, she knew about it.
She went and confronted Jai about it first, just like Adarsh did. Because what she must do she needs proof. And a mother can always stare the truth out of her errant child. Just some stern words, and Jai is looking at the ground with guilty eyes.
Implicit trust. Comes from a deep love and trust between a husband and wife, and between family members. We know each other so well that we can know in our gut what the other is capable/ not capable of.
She knew and helped Manohar cover up lots of things. Weirdly she expected that in wrongdoing there would be a compass or balance scale of degree of corruption? What, did she expect that its ok to do bad as long as she was privy to what he was doing? Doesn't that make her a criminal too?
What is she more angry about? The fact that he lied and kept secrets from her? or that he let Abhay's murderer get away by blaming innocents?
Today she didn't shout loudly like she does it court. Today, her whisper was insidious and private. She didn't want anyone else to know she was shouting at her husband in words.
But her eyes, were screaming Shame on you Manohar! SHAME ON YOU MANOHAR !
The truth must be declared, she decides and leaves.
It's so nice to see that although Adarsh got slapped in anger, he knew that after that initial burst, his Mom's brain will start seeing truth. She trusts Adarsh's investigation and decision, because he was as in the dark as she was, angry and judgemental.
She and Adarsh are best friends, more than Mother and Son. She realizes that Adarsh's hurt from his father's deceit is more innocent that hers. She knew Manohar was shady, she shielded him because she loved him.
Hers and Manohar's wasn't a relationship of integrity and morality. She raised her sons with her moral compass, but Manohar never subscribed to it. In fact he put Jai, their eldest in a difficult position. "Follow me, obey me, Never mind what your mother taught you. "
Never very strong in his convictions, Jai obeyed. Notice how Suhasini didn't scold him very badly. She knew Jai was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She just wished he was stronger in his morality like her two other sons.
Amazing scenes by Meghna Malik today. The woman is such a polished actress. I will miss her a lot.
I dunno about you guys but Adarsh's conversation with Swadeentha left me a little wanting. ..
