Now this bit is over the top. What Salman Khan said is unethical, but it is not a crime. Having a summons is pushing it too far on the other end.

lol...you can't force anyone to apologise, it has to come from the person himself.
just like you can't clean up a druggie until or unless he decides to get cleaned.

... The women's commission is the most toothless body in the entire country.

They can summon, but cannot force someone to actually appear

They can issue statements, but have no, NO legal power to do anything - even demand an apology let alone hand out punishment

The entire annual budget for the Central women's commission is just 1 crore only. They barely manage to pay the bills and salary. They don't have money to buy an extra fan let alone get a decent lawyer. State commissions are even worse

So it is just noise. Such commissions are sadly just used to park people the politicians have to oblige by giving them a post
