Vivek Dahiya, who is currently a busy man shooting for the supernatural show Kawach, will get hitched to long time girlfriend and leading TV actress Divyanka Tripathi on July 8. The actor, who seemed quite excited about the wedding, revealed his plans for the D-day to Timesofindia.com.
Since the couple is caught up with work, they are unable to go out shopping together. From honeymoon plans to what they will wear on wedding and other functions, and helping Divyanka in household chores post wedding here is what Vivek has to say.
How has it been shooting for your supernatural show 'Kawach' so far?
Vivek: Absolutely nice! It is a great genre and different from the regular shows that we see on TV these days. Such stories don't get made everyday. It is edgy, spooky and uncanny. When the script was first narrated to me I got goosebumps. I hadn't done anything beyond the role of a police officer before on screen and with this I am doing something different. I share a great chemistry with Mona Singh and even with Mehak it has been great but I don't have many scenes with Mehak.
Q: How do you manage to shoot simultaneously for Yeh Hai Mohhabatein and Kawach?
Vivek: I am still a part of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, but since both my shows are being made by the same production house I get time to juggle between the two easily. You will get to see me on and off on Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
Q: Since you are a very busy person as of now and juggling between two shows, does that leave you with any time for family and Divyanka?
Vivek: Not at all. My family has been complaining that I don't talk to them or meet them that often. Since they live in another city, I have quick conversations with them over the phone. Talking about Divyanka, yes we do meet each other twice in a week on the sets since she is working with the same production house. We mingle and have dinners and lunches together once or twice in a week. Yes, I do find time for Divyanka and she does the same for me.
Q: How have the wedding preparations been going so far?
Vivek: They have been going good. Our costumes have been locked. Actually mine has been done, while Divyanka is still working on hers. You know how women are. Though we don't have much preparation from our sides, our families are taking care of everything.
Q: Are you excited about the wedding?
Vivek: Our lives are too mundane as of now. The same boring shoot life is still on.
Q: Do you two shop together?
Vivek: No, we don't get the time like other couples to go out shopping and selecting things together. We don't go window shopping or anything. I have decided upon this one designer from Mumbai, who has been making all my outfits for the wedding and other ceremonies.
Q: What are you wearing on your wedding day?
Vivek: I will be wearing a shervani on the wedding and a tux and suit for the rest of the functions. My outfits have been designed by TISA.
Q: Will you take a break from work post wedding?
Vivek: No, we will not take a break straight away. In fact we are thinking of taking a 10 days break in August or October.
Q: Which destination have you zeroed in for your honeymoon?
Vivek: It will be a surprise for Divyanka. There are a couple of places that I have thought about, but will finalise when the time nears.
Q: Do you enjoy cooking? Will you help you wife-to-be in household chores?
Vivek: I'm pretty decent at cooking. I have stayed abroad for seven long years and have cooked for myself there. Either I would cook for myself, eat the food and sleep or sleep hungry. I can help her in cooking, slicing tomatoes, onions and everything also I can do the dishes. We have done cooking together when I am at her place or when she comes over to my place, which seldom happens.
Q: Ishita Bhalla from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein or Divyanka Tripathi from real life?
Vivek: Divyanka ofcourse. The Ishita Bhala from the show is Raman's.
Q: Who all from the TV industry have been invited for the wedding?
Vivek: The wedding will happen at Bhopal, which will be a private affair with only close friends and family in presence. There will be not more than 300-400 people present there. The reception will happen in Chandigarh. It is not feasible for the actors and our industry friends to leave all their work and fly down to Bhopal and Chandigarh for our wedding ceremonies.
Q: Will you throw a party for your industry friends in Mumbai?
Vivek: We are still working on it. Even if it happens, it will not be a very big bash but a small private affair with all friends in presence.
