In Hindi Cinema, we do have a lot a visually appealing songs.... But along with these, we have quite many 'paint pictures through words' songs too... I am talking of songs, where just by listening to the song in its totality (words, notes, instruments etc); one can almost create ones own visual of the song...

Creating this thread just to discuss such songs....

I will start off with one song from A R Rehman from his very first hindi movie 'Roja'... Here is the link...

Yeh haseen vaadiya, yeh khula asmaan... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUHcSjhriDw

Its not just the lyrics of the song, but the overall impact that ARR's composition creates makes you think that this must be set amidst gorgeous mother nature, surrounded with mountains...

Do you know other such songs? Pls share 😊

I think katra katra milti hai is another such song...While listening to the song, one can just visualise a stream/river,clear water and misty foggy setting...where one can just feel life flowing peacefully.

'zindagi hai behne do
pyasi hoon main pyasi rehne do'

^^'Katra katra' indeed šŸ‘ - a beautifully penned and composed song.. Does initiate a mental picture within... 😳

Another song that immediately comes to my mind is...

'Ek hi khwab kai kai baar dekha hai maine' from Kinara

This one I think is a little different... you can paint your own pretty picture listening to it... that need not be what is in the movie... Oh I just get lost somewhere else when I listen to this one...

i can imagine students having fun in classrooms...šŸ˜†

another song that i'm enthralled by lately is...

aankhon mein teri... ajab si ajab si adaaein hai...dil ko banaati jo patang saansein woh teri jo hawaaein hai....

i can clearly c a heart shaped kite flying high up in the sky...šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

Thanks great post one song that comes to my mind and I can create my own visual of the song.

Rimjhim Gire Sawan
Sulag Sulag Jaaye Mann
Bheege Aaj Is Mausam Mein
Lagi Kaisi Yeh Agan
Rimjhim Gire Sawan

Jab Ghunghroon Si Bajti Hain Boondein
Armaan Hamare Palken Na Moondein

I think another one is 'Zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi woh barsaat ki raat'

Each line describes the scene so aptyly that one doesn't have too see the visual. The words paint the picture slowly and beautifully.

Zindgai bhar nahin bhoolegi woh barssat ki raat

there is one more antara, par mujhe itna hi yaad hai 😊
