Fawad Khan and Parineeti Chopra in Sahir Ludhianvi 's biopic?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production, a biopic on Sahir Ludhianvi, which was to go on floors by mid-2016, has now been postponed to September this year. The makers were apparently waiting for Priyanka Chopra's dates to come through, so she could essay the role of Amrita Pritam, while Irrfan was touted to play Sahir. However, due to unavailability of the actress' dates, the latest development is that Parineeti Chopra and Fawad Khan have supposedly been approached to play these lead roles. Sahir's character apparently ages in the film from his early 20s to his 40s and 50s and the makers now feel that Fawad would look more convincing playing the younger part, as compared to Irrfan. The recce for the film is currently underway and will mostly be shot up North.
