Why old music directors of 90 and 2000 dont get films these days? I am sure they can make soulful melodies yet again if given chance...its a high time enough of waanabie westren songs

Those wannabe westernised songs are what audiences want. Those music directors of that era weren't willing to change with the time. And their music send remained old where as new music directors took over.Today's time we have talented music directors like Pritam, Amit Trivedi, Vishal Shekhar, AR Rahman, Ram Sampat, Amaal Malik, Meet Bro's, Himesh Reshamiya and Ajay Atul. We don't need them old bunch. Likes of Himesh, AR Rahman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy & Anu Malik lasted as they could compose music for today's generation
One answer is they are not good enough ? Yeah, I am going there. A R Rehman started in the 90s, now he is a benchmark for good music. He won a Grammy and Oscar. Few American musicians have that not to say BAFTA and Golden Globes. It is because he constantly reinvents himself, is fresh and not stale. Even if audience taste changes there is always place for talent.
rehman got oscar for a song which no one can even understand besides the word jai ho.. He deserved oscar for his classics lika roja, pukaar, dil se
