yes ranveer has been honest. hes shown neha how his family is what kind of condition they are in and told her that "this is what i can give you , ill give you love though... He dint tell her i will work hard and do something so that this lifestyle of ours gets better" he dint give her hope regarding that front.
So that is why neha is behaving that way. Though i believe neha is doing a wrong thing by not confronting him directly about it. But somewhere i also know that ranveer already knows that neha is scared of poverty, he knows it yet wants her to adjust with him in his present condition, because he believes if a person loves they will adjust, while he forgets that even he has to adjust his priorities for neha. I am not asking ranveer to give neha a life like dev gives but at least a life where she has to not compromise that much. If u see the kids in ranveer's house are not even allowed to eat jam biscuts coz they cant afford & ranveer actually dosent even feel a bit disappointed about it. or wanting to do something for them. i feel ranveer is also grey like neha who has this high notion of his nobleness
Sorry for the late reply, just saw your response. 😊
You know, I think you are absolutely right with the last line. Ranveer is also not a perfect character and is pretty self-satisfied about how great his family is, and what is he is offering to Neha. He is taking it for granted that she will realise what is "really important" -- family being together --once she lives with his family, which is an extremely unfair assumption because his family may be important to him but Neha has other dreams. It was good to see his bhabhi actually speaking with Neha frankly about the situation, but even then she chose to hide behind a mahaan speech instead of expressing her true feelings. I think she needs to stop being ashamed of what she wants and take ownership of it, though that is hard with Ishwari's teachings in mind. She is brainwashed to think that loving material things is shallow, which is not necessarily the case.
The conflict of Neha and Ranveer's visions for the future, which are both valid but not compatible with each other, is making this storyline really interesting. I would love to see them resolve it with some kind of compromise, like Ranveer and Neha moving into their own house, but only one which Ranveer can afford with his current job...
