But i do not see that wish in ranveer. he does not want to grow financially nor see him wanting to give some luxuries to his family. leave alone luxuries not even comforts that medium middle class people have. Love is important but then that love also makes you do all these things for your family.

And its not only the girl who has to adjust, its also about the boy who has to adjust. ranveer is not willing to adjust with his mindset. he can love and understand neha but he is not willing to earn more for her.I feel neha dosent wish for a lifestyle like her present but she wishes for some extra comforts which she will not be able to adjust without. For your families happiness and comforts you do have to work hard and sacrifice a little.

I completely agree with you! Neha should not be ashamed that she wants a certain kind of lifestyle for the rest of her life, and I certainly don't endorse the idea that she should be the one doing all the adjustment just because she is a woman, or because Ranveer's life is more "noble." That said, I also don't have a problem with Ranveer's priorities. His family is happy and he gets to do what he loves. No doubt, Ranveer should adjust as well if the relationship with Neha is important to him, but my issue is that he is not being given the opportunity to do so. Ranveer has been honest with Neha from the beginning about what his family is like and what his priorities are. He is therefore giving Neha the all the information for her consideration. Neha has not been as honest, and therefore hasn't even given Ranveer a fair chance. How can we know how much he'd be willing to adjust if he hasn't even been given all the relevant information? Rather than confronting him with her desires honestly, Neha is trying to manipulate Ranveer into accepting a different kind of lifestyle, without his full knowledge. That lack of honesty is what I don't approve of in Neha's behaviour. As hard as it may be for her, she needs to learn to trust him if they are to have any real relationship.

Aww Sam..That was wonderful!
I especially love Ishwari Sona equation that is at the moment. The easy rapport between them. But as you have mentioned this relationship will change after the labels change. The day Dev tells Ishwari he wants to marry because he loves some one, Ishwari's is going to get maha insecured because she may tolerate marriage of convenience between Dev and Nats but Dev's loving someone outside their family will be a matter of contention and unbearable for her.

Loved loved loved what you have written about Dev and his arrogance related to the power of money.

Neha is a very real character. How easily she puts the burden of her happiness on others.

Baki...Sona and Dev... One knows and the other on the verge of knowing.. With Neel complicating things for them... Superb!

Thanks, Raveena! 😃

I am actually loving the subtle irony of the Sona-Ishwari relationship right now; it is such a beautiful relationship right now, one which any MIL-DIL would aspire to, and yet when the time comes for them to take on those roles, all the complications will arise! And it so perfectly mirrors the Dev-Sona relationship. Dixit mom and son are coasting along without questioning what it means that they love this girl so damn much and consider her a beloved and trusted member of the family.

All the characters are at such awesome junctures right now, it's hard to resist writing reams and reams about them.

yes ranveer has been honest. hes shown neha how his family is what kind of condition they are in and told her that "this is what i can give you , ill give you love though... He dint tell her i will work hard and do something so that this lifestyle of ours gets better" he dint give her hope regarding that front.
So that is why neha is behaving that way. Though i believe neha is doing a wrong thing by not confronting him directly about it. But somewhere i also know that ranveer already knows that neha is scared of poverty, he knows it yet wants her to adjust with him in his present condition, because he believes if a person loves they will adjust, while he forgets that even he has to adjust his priorities for neha. I am not asking ranveer to give neha a life like dev gives but at least a life where she has to not compromise that much. If u see the kids in ranveer's house are not even allowed to eat jam biscuts coz they cant afford & ranveer actually dosent even feel a bit disappointed about it. or wanting to do something for them. i feel ranveer is also grey like neha who has this high notion of his nobleness

Sorry for the late reply, just saw your response. 😊

You know, I think you are absolutely right with the last line. Ranveer is also not a perfect character and is pretty self-satisfied about how great his family is, and what is he is offering to Neha. He is taking it for granted that she will realise what is "really important" -- family being together --once she lives with his family, which is an extremely unfair assumption because his family may be important to him but Neha has other dreams. It was good to see his bhabhi actually speaking with Neha frankly about the situation, but even then she chose to hide behind a mahaan speech instead of expressing her true feelings. I think she needs to stop being ashamed of what she wants and take ownership of it, though that is hard with Ishwari's teachings in mind. She is brainwashed to think that loving material things is shallow, which is not necessarily the case.

The conflict of Neha and Ranveer's visions for the future, which are both valid but not compatible with each other, is making this storyline really interesting. I would love to see them resolve it with some kind of compromise, like Ranveer and Neha moving into their own house, but only one which Ranveer can afford with his current job...
