Should Abhi be responsible for Tannu's baby?

I know the answer is No! Of course, we know the baby is not his.

But from Abhi's point of view, he thinks the baby is his.

I wonder what you forum people think Abhi should do about it.

As the situation stands for Abhi, he was hurt and angry one night, had gotten drunk heavily and Aaliyah suggested that he should go see his girlfriend Tannu. He wanted to pour his heart out with a 'friend' which is what he did that night.

All he remembers is waking up the next morning and '6 weeks later' (however the KB calendar works), he learns indirectly that Tannu is trying to get Pragya out of his life claiming pregnant.

Then on the decision about that baby was not just his. Pragya also got involved and later parents on both sides.

What do you guys think about responsibility from Abhi's side?

Should he have accepted to marry/take care of baby right away?

Should he have a choice to decide on his own without having to worry about the burden of having no choice?

Assuming he does not know baby truth, now that he knows what kind of a person Tanu is, changes things for him. He should have a choice. She is a criminal now since she stole. So he should not be forced to marry a criminal. Now that everyone knows, what if they complain to the cops? Just saying, not that someone in MM will send her to jail.

He can say he'll financially support the baby, but no fat chance of Tanu ever being in his life. Actually he didn't say anything about the baby today. Wonder what his plans are??

Cerealgirl, do you think Abhi should have a choice to not take responsibility of the baby either?

Or let me ask this-
If a man and woman are dating (not married) and one day the man gets the woman drunk and gets her knocked up against her wishes (she didn't want to get pregnant). When the woman learns she is pregnant, does she have a choice to decide if she wants that baby or not?

Tia, I was watching the entire episode.. Please anyone can tell the truth to him.. I was like why the team not even trying to tell.. Pragya can use that na.. Even abhi asked what sarla Maa did to u?? Then Also no one bother to tell him truth.. I don't know why pragya waiting?? What for she waiting.. Why cv's r doing all this??
Abhi told that whole entire house can't tell u against u tannu.. Then I thought same baby truth Also same like that almost whole house know that Na...how many times he have to see the people he believed r loved r betraying him.. Every time he had to feel about him.. How can pragya can see all that.. If u love someone no matter what happens u make them happy na,. But what pragya is doing all make them abhi unhappy every time., is this all necessary just to prove u as mahan...

I thought daddi atleast now will confront tannu about baby.. But nobody cares.. I know this not the time to talk about baby..but all this mess happened with all of their drama na..abhi don't know that.. He is blaming him self for believing tannu... Now also pragya not thinking tell the truth.. Great team Tia...

One year of torture for abhigya =1day tannu torture.. How fair it is

The team want tannu out of house with out exposing her.. What is the aim of the mission?? To prove abhi not the baby daddy r proving tannu theif?? They r happy and celebrating with out throwing tannu.. Tannu do drama to stay in the house.. Mahan pragya definitely want tannu to prove her guilty so she definitely won't tell anything about tannu..

I don't think afterall all this tannu will leave team.. Tannu will emerge as strongest villain if she stayed in MM.. Again same scenes recycled...one thing sure abhi won't believe tannu from now onwards.. I' m happy for that...
I know this is not the answer for ur post.. Just now watched the episode.. Frustrated

Tia, that's a very loaded question! 😊 I think this decision depends on personal and moral values. Very subjective though!!

So for the first part of your question if Abhi should have a choice - yes, he should have a choice now. Because he doesn't love her and she's not a person he can spend his life with. But before he was not this turned off by her. They were supposed to be BF-GF so it made sense. Also he was talked into accepting the baby as a token of abhigya love. Again, the assumption is he doesn't know the baby truth.

But will the show go there, I don't think so. I feel they may not show that because it makes the male lead look irresponsible or bad. Key words being "look irresponsible or bad." Another reason why I feel KKB won't show that is because of Zee channel. Zee has a bias for more traditional themes and I feel they won't show a man giving up on his responsibility toward a woman and baby. Maybe Star or other foreign owned channels may be open to alternate life decisions.

Now your second part is a different scenario. Where it involves a woman - the reverse of Abhi's situation. She absolutely has a choice to get an abortion, raise the baby, or give it up for adoption. Actually I know such things have happened. But if the girl was in a relationship with that guy and they were going steady, they might have ended up marrying too.

I have seen couples marrying in India because of unplanned babies. I am talking of middle class values in B or C towns. It is common. It happens in metro cities too, though less frequently. This is still an Indian show meant for traditional audience living in India who identify with this. So Abhi is responsible.

I understand what you are saying in fact a lot of Kumkum oriented dialogues, showing modern looking women as vamps and showing Pragya 'ideal' bahu- all are to please a certain class of audience.
I also know of movies where they show a girl getting married to a man who forced her into a baby!
Appearently KB is more a hit with urban audience. TV soaps could as well change the mentality of people by showing an alternative thought!!

Chubby, he is forced to think that way due to a set of values that a bunch of people in the soap believe in. Abhi himself didn't feel strongly about the baby may be due to intuition or due to his liberal values or due to that he never ever meant to have that baby.
