The show explores the relationship of Dev Dixit (Shaheer Sheikh) and Sonakshi Bose (Erica Fernandes). Dev is a successful business tycoon who lives with his mother Ishwari and three sisters. Dev was only eight years old when he lost his father. His mother Ishwari had to make a lot of sacrifices for the upbringing of her children. Dev owes everything to his mother and has a feeling of indebtedness and complete devotion for her.

Sonakshi(aka. Sona) is from the Bose family, who are middle-class Bengalis. She is a very strict nutritionist, who works at the JLS hospital. Sonakshi is the one who makes all the income for her family, since her brother Saurabh lost his job, and her father spends his pension money on his medicines. Her mother, Asha, wants her to be well-settled and get married soon. But Sona and her father think that Sona should have a successful career and then get married.

Dev's mother Ishwari becomes ill. Dev appoints Sona as his mother's personal nutritionist. At the beginning Ishwari didn't like Sonakshi. But with the time Ishwari's opinion changed. Dev and Sona are almost always arguing with each other. But with that fights only they start to understand each other more. Dev's aunty Radha Rani doesn't like Sona and she is always insulting her. She insults her so much that once a hurt Sona defies to quit her job. At same time Sona's cousin sister Elena arrives from Kolkata. She loses her way and is eve teased by a some rouges one of which being Dev's cousin and Radha Rani's son Vicky. That same day to get her back into her job Dev waits for her at a restaurant for nearly 5 hours. Finally his patience pays off and she returns back to back. One such day Sona leaves work early and due to a rally has to walk back home. Dev accompanies her and they talk about love and childhood days. They Do not notice a speeding car and Sona gets into an accident. Dev gets shocked and narrates all his childhood stories to keep her conscious till the ambulance arrives. At hospital nurse says Sona blood group A negative is not available. Dev calls his P.A Tina to ask the employees if they have the same blood group as Sona. Tina brings some people who have A negative blood group. Meanwhile, Dev informs Sona's parents. They get shock but when they got to know that what Dev did for Sona they are thankful. Slowly Sona recovers and is now out of danger. Dev frequently visits Sona. In that process Sona Realizes that she loves Dev. When Sona gets discharged she takes her cousin's advice to try to propose Dev but with fear she could not.

Elena and Saurabh arange Sona's dinner with Dev and manage to leave allowing Sona and Dev alone to interact. Sona again fails to profess her love and Mr. Gujral also joins with his daughter Natasha. Dev starts conversing with Natasha which makes Sona uncomfortable and she leaves from there. The next day Dev brings Natasha home as he had forgotten an important file there where he introduces her to his family and they continue the meeting in his room . Radharani sees that Sona has feelings for Dev and adds jealousy in her mind .As Natasha leaves she twists her ankle and Sona attends to it. Dev offers to drop Natasha home and seeing that's sona gets jealous. Natasha sends flowers to Dev for helping her and he gives it to Sona but she rejects it. Sona later sees that Dev uses sleeping pills and advices him not to . Mr Gujral and Natasha are coming to Dev's home for dinner to final the deal. Sona feels uncomfortable and leaves early stating that she is unwell. Dev comes over to check on her and when he is about to leave they realize some naughty kids had locked the door from outside. Now Dev and Sona are stuck inside her house.

On that day Mr. Gujral wants her daughter to marry Dev.Then Sona feels crestfallen.Sona thinks that she should forgot Dev(her love),but she can't.Dev was not able to decide weather he would marry Natasha or not.Then one night he said his mother that he will marry Natasha as by this his very important deal will not be cancelled by Mr. Gujral. But somehow he realises that he would have to marry Natasha but he was paying attention more on Sona.

...Now Dev has not said a Yes to Natasha yet, and he is more worried for his sister Neha (who has a grudge towards their mom and him that she sacrificed a lot of her childhood but has not even been acknowledged as their mom always praises Dev only. His mom is not helping him take his personal life decision but his mom is very obsessive about him and gets always restless each time his aunt brings a proposal.

Now all are happy about Natasha proposal and Dev is not able to comprehend his own feelings. He has now reached a point where he is really open and frank with Sona and considers her his best friend. Natasha is always seen in his home and that way she asks Sona about her personal life, if she has any BF and while Dev confidently replies for her that she is boring and she doesnt have anyone, Sona cuts the conversation and says the opposite, that she is not boring and she does have a BF. in her insecurity she said that, but she got trapped when Natasha invites Sona and her BF for a double date.

What you saw today is that. Elena her cousin sis helps her find a fake BF. And they both are meeting for the first time during the double date only. (elena and vicky are having tiff moments / Ranveer is english tutor of Neha - and they both are in love - first Ranveer proposes and Neha rejects but during a confrontation of her aunt in their home, Neha in her outburst says that she loves him, and he wants to get married to her - so now in parallel - there are 3 things...

1) Sona's feelings towards Dev

2) Jealousy towards Natasha

3) Ranveer and Neha track (neha asks her bro help to make Ranveer rich and everything is possible for him and if he does this she will forgive all grudges)

New and interesting track - Dev who always is a reserved person wearing only blues greys and black - is introduced to a colourful world.. thanks to Sona.. and now slowly with the entry of the fake BF - Neel - Dev is in detective mode and is disturbed that Sona has a BF and is he really her BF.
