Who was nidhi?!

I just started watching yhm again (but decides to stop until everyone finds out ruhi is alive and raman takes some chill pills) but who exactly is nidhi, and why is she doing all this?

In past Mrs bhalla had chosen nidhi to get her married to Raman nd Raman loved shagun dat time nd rejected proposal

nidhi's father committed suicide
nidhi's mother blamed her for her father's death
nd nidhi held Raman nd bhalla family responsible for all dis


nidhi entered in ishra's life as lawyer to take revenge

Ok so many years ago, Raman's mom had taken Raman's alliance to Nidhi's home. In fact, Toshi ji had fixed everything but Raman was infatuated with Shagun. Thus, Toshi ji had to break the rishta off. In this gham, that his daughter may never get married to her looks and weight, Mr Chabra, that is Nidhi's dad, killed himself!

Before the leap, we had a track wherein Ishita happened to kill a renowned lawyer in the defence of the lady who's child Ishita's sister on law had taken from the orphanage.

Cut to, no lawyer was ready to fight the case and then Nidhi popped up & this gave her the chance to avenge her father's death by disrupting IshRa's peace. Basically, Nidhi hid the CCTV footage chip which contained the evidence of Ishita's innocence.
