Yes most of us have supportive partners, so we have no issues. Even my Dad always supported my mum's career. He just sometimes used to find it tough if she was away on writing seminars etc. Even he had a successful career when we were kids in the civil service. Same applies to my husband. We both are working and it can be challenging at times to manage work/life balance. But we try and we succeed most of the time. Never had an issue attending work events as my hubby never makes an issue out of any of it, even if he is not invited. (Coz a lot of work events don't include partners these days).
But TRUST and leaving false ego aside is the main thing. If your a "secure" person, your partners success should be something to celebrate not something to feel insure and inferior over. Ramnath proved what a petty and cheap person he is, who can't seen beyond a woman's femininity to her ability as an individual. He insults his wife by implying her boss promoted her because of a personal agenda and not her ability as an employee! It was so disgusting to see him insulting her like that. Makes you cringe. He deserves a slap and also for Shravan to really give him a piece of his mind. He LIED to his son and even now lying to him. He has poisoned his son's mind and now wondering why he is so bitter? He has a lot to answer for and men like him are the problem! It's because of men like him that women never get their due in life! Why even after achieving things women are made to feel inferior!
We are just as good as the next man. Sometimes we are smarter and faster than them! So why pay them more? Why promote them more? Why feel a Mother is not a good employee coz she has kids in her care, but a man who is also a Father is never thought of as having a handicap by having kids? The hypocrisy and double standards are shocking, even in this day and age. I can personally vouch, a guy in my team who was probably 26 at the time used to call in sick more than me or any of my female colleagues did, even when a few of us were pregnant! Being Mothers we neve milked it to call in sick. But some guys used to party and get drunk and call in sick the next day! I am a better employee today with ALL my responsibilities than I was when I first hit the workforce as a new Grad. I was a good employee then, I am even a better one now with 100 more responsibilities on my plate now!
