PART 2
Subtitle: Achanak... everything changed...
Next morning everyone was on time to the office, for a change Raghav was also present on time. Trisha had not yet arrived, so everyone decided to talk to him about the previous night party.
Rajbir: "congrats Raghav hume nahi pata tha ki tum dono relationship me ho" Rajbir said teasingly.
Bikram: "waise tumhari girl friend aaj hai kahan?"
Raghav: "kya tum sab... ye kya girlfriend boyfriend laga rakha hai?"
Swati: "hum to wahi keh rahe hain jo humne kal dekha..."
Rajbir: "haan Raghav itna sharma kyun rahe ho... ab sach to hum jaan chuke hain, jhooth bolne se kuch nahi hoga..."
Raghav: "please tum sab... stop teasing me ok... aisa kuch nahi hai. Wo to bas... "just then they saw Trisha entering the office and everyone became silent in front of her including Raghav.
Trisha: "what happened guys. Aise achanak sab chup kyun ho gaye? Some joke going on..."
Raghav: "nahi boss ye sab meri girl friend ke bare mein pooch rahe the ki wo ab tak kyun nahi aayi, aaj pehli baar wo late kaise ho gayi?"
She blushed on hearing this but she somehow gave a stern look to Raghav and the others.
Trisha:" Raghav... and all you guys, please get back to work."
Everyone got back to work like obedient children, they knew they can't take that liberty with her; that was her aura in the office. Only Raghav was the one who could play pranks on her and tease her. After few hours when everyone was busy with their work, Raghav entered into her cabin and came close to her.
Trisha: "what happened Raghav? kuch kaam tha?"
Raghav: "haan wo maine kal tumse nahi kaha tha..."
Trisha: "kya nahi kaha tha?"
Raghav: "that you look mesmerizing in a saree, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you yesterday. Will you come for a date with me in a saree one day?"
Trisha: "Raghav... no... now stop making funny faces and you just stop flirting with me... get back to work please".
Raghav: "ab tumne mujhe apna boyfriend banaya hai to itni demand to kar hi sakta hu na... "he said with a smirk. He saw her smiling slightly and then left her cabin with an immense pleasure. He loves to irritate her and he knows she enjoys it.
Trisha received a call from her mother in the evening when they were all sitting in the conference room. She sounded quite disturbed and told her that they have to immediately leave for Dehradun. Trisha's grandfather had a major heart attack and he was hospitalized. She told them to just relax and go to see her grandfather and that she'll manage over here, they need not worry about her. She herself became a bit tensed on knowing about her grandfather but she composed herself and carried on with her work.
It was 5 days since her parents had gone. She had been regularly in touch with them and knew that her grandfather's condition was quite stable now. She was very happy that her parents were returning home today, she knew they had been very tensed over these 5 days as her grandfather's condition had been very critical. She left early from office in the evening so that she could make dinner for her parents , they must be very tired due to so many days of stress, she thought.
It was 11pm and still her parents had not come back. She was trying to call her father but his number was not reachable. She started to be a little worried, they should have come by now, she thought. She was thinking about what could have happened when she got a call from an unknown number. She picked it up and what she heard from the other side, she could not believe herself. Initially she thought it could some fake caller but after much questioning from the person, she realised that whatever he was saying could be true.
That call was from a hospital on the highway. The doctor incharge of that hospital had called her and informed her that the car in which her parents were returning had met with a major accident, the driver and her mother died on the spot and her father was in the hospital and still he was in a very critical condition. She felt as if everything around her went dark, she could not speak, just could not stand properly... Her legs went weak and she sat down on the sofa, still for few minutes. She then reconciled herself and immediately made a call to Raghav, she couldn't think of anyone but him at this time.
Raghav was reading his favourite comic when his phone rang and seeing it to be Trisha's call, picked it up. He knew it would be something really urgent otherwise she wouldn't have called at this time.
Raghav: "hello Trisha kya hua, itni raat ko... is everything ok?"
Trisha: "Raghav... wo..." and she burst out crying on phone. He got really worried for her. She was a very strong girl and she doesn't normally cry like this. Inspite of his repeated asking, she kept on crying and could not speak anything . He decided to go to her home immediately, it was something really shocking for her which had completely shattered her mentally. He told her that he was coming and that she should just calm down. He'll be reaching there in around 20 minutes.
When he reached her house, she was sitting outside the main door and tears continuously flowing from her eyes. As soon as she saw him, she hugged him and started crying like a small child. He got really worried for her, he took her inside and made her sit down. He gave her few sips of water and asked her what had happened.
Trisha: "Raghav... mumma papa... accident... mumma..." she was still sobbing while speaking and then she placed her head onto his lap and started howling again. He understood that her parents had met with an accident but what exactly had happened, she didn't seem to be in a situation to tell. He tried to calm her down but she was just crying and crying. He thought that definitely she must have got some call from someone who would have informed her about this mishap. He took her phone and dialled the unknown number from the received call list. He was himself shocked to hear what he was told and understood why such a strong girl like her had become so vulnerable.
He decided that they soon need to reach the hospital and asked her to come with him. She will have to meet her father who was in the hospital in a critical condition, they didn't have much time. Raghav was driving towards the hospital while she was still unconsolable. He didn't know how to pacify her at present, she had already lost her mother and her father was fighting for his life. He was really worried for her, he had taken the numbers of her relatives from her phone and informed them about this accident. She would be relieved to see her relatives around her, he thought.
They reached the hospital and went to the ICU where her father was admitted. She didn't have the courage to meet her father in this condition, Raghav held her hand and took her inside. She could not control her tears when she saw him in bandages all over and was sent out by the attending nurse as she looked too disturbed to handle all this. Raghav made her sit outside on a chair and he himself went inside to meet her fatherafter talking to the doctor as there was no one else except him right now. The doctor told him about his grave situation and that he doesn't have much time left with him.
Her father opened his eyes after some time and saw Raghav in front of him. In a very drowsy state with a slurred speech he talked to Raghav.
Her father: "Raghav beta tum... Trisha kaisi hai?"
Raghav: "uncle wo theek hai, aapke liye medicines lene gayi hai, abhi aati hogi."
Father: "main use achhi tarah se janta hu, wo bahar baithkar ro rahi hogi. Wo humse bahut pyar karti hai, humare bina khud ko sambhal nahi payegi. Mujhe uski bahut chinta hai, wo mere jaane ke baad bilkul akeli ho jayegi, apni ma ko to pehle hi kho chuki hai..."
Raghav: "aap aise mat kahiye uncle, aapko kuch nahi hoga."
Father: "mujhe bolne do beta, mere paas waqt nahi hai. Main janta hu ki sirf tum ho jo mere jane ke baad use sambhal sakte ho, kya tum mujhse ek waada kar sakte ho... ki tum mere jane ke baad humesha uska khayal rakhoge, kabhi use akela nahi chhodoge... Please kya tum ek marte huye insaan ki aakhri ichha poori karoge?"
Raghav: "main aapse waada karta hu uncle, main humesha uska khayal rakhunga, aap please ab aaram kijiye."
Father: "Raghav please kya tum meri tasalli ke liye uski maang me sindoor bharke usse shaadi kar sakte ho, jisse main shanti se is duniya se ja saku, tum usse shaadi kar loge to mujhe lagega ki meri beti duniya mein akeli nahi hai, main use tumhe saunp kar is duniya se jana chahta hu. Please meri madad kar do...Trisha ko apna lo please...aah", he said with painful expressions.
Raghav was shocked to hear this from her father but being a doctor himself, he realised that her father didn't have much time. He was confused as to what he should do? On one hand he had the motive of his life, so dangerous because of which he has not been able to move ahead till now; and on the other hand, there is Trisha whom he loves madly and her father taking his last breaths asking him to marry her in such circumstances. He obviously wanted to marry her but only after his mission is accomplished and not like this atleast. He wanted to give her all the happiness she deserves; but marriage in a situation when she is not in her own senses...he didn't know how would he explain it to her? He also didn't know whether Trisha had similar feelings for him or not, she had never expressed her feelings directly till now, how would she react to this marriage in such circumstances. What if she doesn't feel the same for him, he thought. He remembered the time when his dad was murdered in front of his eyes, how lonely he had become after that; now Trisha is facing such a situation in her life. She has already lost her mother and is about to lose her father too, how will she cope up with this mental trauma. He can't leave her alone in this situation, he can't allow her to face the same loneliness which he faced at that time. He decided at that very moment to fulfil her father's last wish. He won't be able to bear the burden on his heart that he didn't complete his last wish while he was leaving this world.
He went outside his room where Trisha was sitting. He held her hand and took her inside, he searched for the way he could fulfil her father's wish. Trisha was so preoccupied in her thoughts and she still had tears flowing from her eyes, she didn't understand what was going on at that time. Raghav took out a glass kept on the table and smashed it on the wall, he scratched his thumb over the glass piece and was about to apply his blood on her scalp, when she suddenly realised what he was about to do. She held his hand and stopped him but he signalled her to let him do this as this was her father's wish. She saw her father and understood with his expressions that it was his last wish. He applied his own blood on his scalp and her father felt so relieved to see this. He signalled both of them to come close to him and they sat beside him. He placed her hand in Raghav's hand and he closed his eyes for ever.
Trisha after few minutes realised that her father was not responding. She shook him but there was no response, he was no more now. Trisha couldn't believe herself and she burst out crying. Raghav saw her like this, he too had tears in his eyes. He was told by the doctor to take her out, she was very unstable emotionally. He faced a lot of difficulty in taking her out of the room. He had his arm around her and she was leaning onto him. She was not in a state to control her emotions, she was totally devastated. She had lost her parents in such circumstances, anyone would lose her mental balance, howsoever strong that person maybe; after all she is a girl who was left all alone in the world now. She needed his support and he had to be with her, he knew this. While they came out of the room, her relatives had also reached the hospital. When they came to know about his demise they all started mourning in front of her. They all were shocked to see vermilion on her forehead (they didn't know what had actually happened) but they didn't say anything directly to her. They had seen her introducing Raghav as her boyfriend in the party, they all presumed her to be married to Raghav as he was the one who was with her now. All of them were talking about their marriage amongst themselves instead of providing her emotional support. She became so upset with all this scene but she couldn't say anything, she was so badly traumatized. Raghav had to intervene in between.
Raghav: "please aap sab uski condition nahi dekh rahe hai kya? Please leave her alone, aise to aap use aur upset kar rahe hai..."
They all went out from that place after passing remarks on them . Raghav realised that why she wasn't close to any of her relatives, seeing their attitude (they were more surprised to see her married rather than realising her agony of losing her parents). He remembered that she always talked about her parents but never about the other relatives, probably they never got along well as Trisha was a very independent girl and they were after her marriage all the time. He decided to handle everything alone right now, he told the nursing staff to carry out all the formalities as soon as possible. As this was an accident case, the police had also come for their statement. Raghav managed everything on his own, he saw her occupied in her sorrow of losing her beloved. They were asked to identify her mother's body. Raghav knew that won't be easy for her, but she had to do it. He took her along with him, held her close to himself for support. When she saw her mother's body in front of her, she immediately clenched him tightly and fainted in his arms. He lifted her and took her to the casualty. By the time she regained her consciousness, he completed all the necessary formalities in the hospital. After that he took her back to her home where all the rituals had to be carried out. He knew that won't be easy considering that she is the only child, and seeing her relatives he knew that this would be another issue for her; he had informed Bikram and Rajbir also about what had happened and that Trisha needed the support of everyone close to her at this time.
Thats it in this part... Hope you like it... I don't know whether all of you agree to their marriage in these circumstances... but i hope i can make everything clear as the story progresses..
