Let's look at her contemporaries
DP and PC have no films
Rangoon is postponed ..Kangy has no release
Kareena was average in Ki and Ka
Vidya has a small role in Te3n ..Only she has Kahaani2,which can shock everyone , either bad or good way
Anushka is playing KJO heroine
Alia may be good UP , but she is not carrying the film on her shoulder
Ash's performance in Sarbjit is not widely liked

Among all these , she is the one who carried the film and she was fab 👏 , I completely stick with What I posted previously , I feel Sonam was fab . and She has no competition apart from Vidya . If DP's below average Piku can be awarded , If Vidya's Kahaani can be awarded , why not Sonam . Those two were not the reason , those film worked right

Secondly No matter, how much we want NonMainstream films are hardly given award , apart from critics category . Okay so any other suggestion apart from Sonam or Vidya ?

honestly the day sonam wins best actress it really will be a low point for bollywood.

she will defo win awards for neerja coz they nominate her even for stuff like dolly ki dolly...

She was good in the movie but not award worthy. Actimg wise it was on par with Anushka's NH10. Kangana in Rangoon might be good too. I think VIDYA will nail it with Kahaani 2. Alia shines in UP trailers and songs and industry do love her too. Radhika Apte looks amazing in Phobia trailer but if Kalki didn't win for MWTS then I doubt Radhika stands a chance.

Sonam winning for Neerja should mean BW has finally gone down the drain!!! She was good but very very average compared to most other female performers, even the over-hyped Anushka/Parineeti.

Honestly Alia is looking excellent in the UP ads... Seems to have nailed her character so this very well could be another Highway for her.

I would never rule out Aloo. That girl is a little powerhouse of talent! She does seem to be the female lead of UP.

KJo will for sure release Gauri Shinde's film this year so Alia can win for UP + Gauri's film.

It will be between Sonam, Alia, Anushka, and Vidya probs.

But do far, it's been Sonam's year though. No other female lead came close. I don't understand this 'low point' in BW crap. She will win for Neerja...a film she did well in and a big hit. They're not giving it to her for Players or Thank You.
