In search of someone...
The vamp in 'Kyunkii' and 'Kasamh Se', Suvarna Jha, is waiting for her dream mate
MUMBAI: For someone who never dreamt of acting, Suvarna Jha has come a long way. "I was happy handling production work in Farah Ali Khan's office. One fine day, she offered me the role of Zoya in her on-going show 'Jannat' and I accepted it for a lark. One thing led to another and here I am," she reminisces with a smile.
Suvarna is a familiar face in Balaji's popular shows 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi' (Star Plus) and 'Kasamh Se' (Zee). "I was always the troublemaker in 'Kyunkii'. However, my transition from a positive character to a vamp almost overnight in 'Kasamh Se' took me by surprise too. But my character has an axe to grind only with Bani, otherwise she is fine," asserts Suvarna.
A woman with a mind of her own, doesn't playing the stereotype bore her? "It does get monotonous to play the same thing again and again. But the challenge remains in portraying it differently. I am picking up the best that I am offered. The day I stop enjoying it, I will quit."
Right now, Suvarna is enjoying her new slim form. "I was on medication for an ailment. The steroids played havoc with my system. I put on a lot of weight. Thankfully, I am consulting a doctor who specialises in pain relief therapy, which made me lose a lot of weight too. Fortunately, I am back to being myself—someone who can eating anything but not put on weight. I love gorging on burgers and pizzas. I also don't work out too often but still manage to remain fit."
Suvarna lives all by herself in Mumbai. "It suits me fine to be on my own because my working hours are erratic. But I like madness too. I'm certainly in search of someone interesting. But right now, I am happy being single. I'm not dating anyone," she ends.
