Angoori's Dadoo's characterization makes no sense

Angoori's Daddo mirrors Pankaj Kapoor from Office Office- a Delhi babu from the 70s doing some govt ki chaakri. And he doesn't use a word of Bhojpuri.
On the other hand, Angoori seems to have grown up in a UP village or at least a place in the hinterland with lots of tabelas around. She mentioned sometimes about her pet cows and goats. Her mother tongue is bhojpuri.

There is zero coherence. Always wondered how CVs made such a glaring anomaly. Yet no one in the mohalla ever remarked on this strange inconsistency either.

I liked Rakesh Bedi in some old films and have great respect for veterans. But so far, most of his episodes have been boring.

May be he worked in the city while his family remained in the village. It happens most of the time but what doesn't fall into place is their behaviour and other characteristics ( as in the father and his son Puttan). Even more interesting is the fact that Ramkali chose a family like this while settling her son's marriage and loves ANgoori as her own daughter where as her own samdhi treats her son nothing more than garbage.
No offense to Rakesh Bedi but this character could have been the father of Tiwari instead of Angoori.

It is not very unusual...even we do not speak the same way our gran ma does...their words , use etc were different.

Her dad seems like a govt babu from Delhi while Angoori seems to have grown up in a village in Chhapra. She uses more English words than people like Vibhuti and Anita albeit wrongly. So she defo tries really hard to learn English.

And yet, she speaks exclusively in Bhojpuri. Her dad doesn't ever. Her dad looks like he lives in some city colony and yet Angoori talks about her pet goats, cows, buffalos etc.

I find it completely off. That's not the image you've in your head when you think of Angoori's Dad.

This is equivalent to my grandparents being fluent English speakers while I faff about with my Maithili.

Glad u pointed out dis thing. Even I don't understand how come Angoori's dad n bro rarely use Bhojpuri accent? But there r possibilities for all these things:
1. Angoori's dad is less educated n did some small jobs in cities to provide for his big family(Angoori has some 12-13 siblings). So, he had to learn to talk like city people.

2. Puttan may also be hindi medium educated like Angoori. He is a thief n goon so he surely had many types of people in his gang. He may started talking like standard people to be dashing. Or Puttan n some other younger siblings may be educated 4m english medium. Angoori n some older siblings may be educated 4m hindi medium as her family wud be more poor then.

3. Cvs wants to show dat not all saas r daayans n not all sasur bow before damaad treating him like a God which happens in many families.

My grandparents n parents talk in Bhojpuri. But me n my 2 brothers always talk in hindi. We understand Bhojpuri very well but can't talk in dat language.

We think alike. 😊
Angoori has 12-13 siblings. 😲

Yes your points do explain things. When we come to know Angoori through the show, and then we picture her parents, Bhure Lal does not come to mind ever. I reckon it can be attributed to artistic licence.

Hey, I never gave this much attention. But you are right.
Guess everyone speaks his own unique language in this serial.

But one thing is sure, Rakesh Bedi hasn't been able to make much impression yet. He is strictly ok ok which is a pity because he is so good otherwise. I had even made a poll and post earlier in the forum on not being impressed by him

Aartiji I'm actually surprised that nobody finds it strange until now. Because the very first time I saw him, he stood out like a sore thumb for me.

I agree. And it breaks my heart to say this because I've utmost respect for veterans and some of them are overshadowed by the so-called Maha merus of the industry.
