No one ever told a woman what it was like to be a mother, she just knew! All the while, she grew up in her parent's house loved and pampered. And then suddenly one day, a little bundle of joy wrapped in white cloth was handed to her and she became a m o t h e r. That little life that had grown inside her for nine months became the focal point of her existence. The woman who once thought of her own looks and existence could only think of the little baby who slept in her arms and giggled on her touch. The girl who was once pampered by her parents was now the one showering her love on her little baby. The baby grew older and she lost herself in her child's existence completely. She wasn't a Mrs. Someone anymore, she became someone's mother! No one ever knew what all she gave up.

When her child got sick, she knew she had to stay awake all night so that her baby could have a sound sleep. She cried when they cried, she felt the pain when her baby felt it. Her child was suffering with fever and she could feel the temperature soar in her body. When they sneezed, she felt a twitch in her chest. The baby slept for days as it recovered but she had lost all her desire to rest. The day her child got better was the day she finally had a sound sleep only to be woken up by her baby's cry in the middle of the night.

As it grew into a toddler, the only thing that worried her was her child getting hurt while taking his or her's first steps. She made sure she never left them away from her sight. The working woman of yesterday was a full-time mother of today, not that she minded. But no one ever acknowledged her sacrifice. The older the child grew, the distant he grew from his mother. She longed for their giggles and smiles as they told her of their day but now they'd come back home and go straight out to play. Her concern today was making sure her kids' had their meals on time and whatever they ate was healthy. Her loneliness was unaccounted for.

As teenage dawned, the kid grew distant and embarrassed of being cuddled or hugged by their mother in public. She never complained. She wanted them happy. That had been her motive all along. She suddenly became the woman that cleaned their kids' rooms after they left, picked up their clothes and put them in the washer, put their gym bags together...make sure their gadgets were all charged up before they came back home. No one asked what she needed in return. No one could guess that it was a small peck on her cheek and a hug...or just an "I love you Mama!" from her children. Even so, she'd give up everything to be able to do it again.

That is what it is to be a mother!

The one who gave everything up for and gained the most precious joy of her life. Ask a mother what she gained, she'll just smile and wipe a tear of joy from her eye. That is your answer.

Throughout our lives, there are always going to be different stages of emotional response. As kids, we are generally much more outward in expressing our feelings. We won't hesitate to tell our moms that we love them or give them a hug or a kiss before hurrying off to school. But as we hit our teens, defiance starts taking over and we get frustrated at their decisions, albeit they only mean well. Ultimately, throughout our teens, we end up being emotionally reserved. Though we don't necessarily perceive the absence of those little things that once put a smile on our as well as our moms' faces but our moms, they definitely do. There are so many little things they do for us, everyday, that we've almost always forgotten to thank them for.

We're here with a few thank-you's to all the amazing moms out there. We couldn't survive a day without you!

Thank you for all those nights you stayed up looking after me, when I was sick.

Thank you for being the best friend and confidante I ever had.

Thank you for always putting mebefore yourself.

Thank you for giving me thecourage to face the worst of times.

Thank you for always forgiving me for the mistakes I did.

Thank you for doing so much for me, without any expecations

Thank you for those nights you would stay up, when I was out late, just to make sure I got home safe.

Thank you for being there for me, when I needed you.

Thank you for making me feel special, always.

Thank you mom, for being the first woman I ever fell in love with.

This Mother's Day, just give your mom a hug and thank her for all those countless things she has done for you and watch her face light up with a smile. You might just end up smiling, yourself.

"Motherhood: Powered by love. Fueled by coffee. Sustained by wine"

Mom, the only on creature on this planet who knows it all. She is a chef, a maid, a teacher, a driver... basically anything you want her to be. Earlier we went through all the things a mom goes through in her daily life, and so we decided that let's get the mood light. Here's a collection of few of the best satires on a mother.

"Mother - noun

One person who does the work of twenty. For free.

(See also : Masochist, loony, saint)"

She will wake you up for school forwarding the time by an hour or two so as she is well aware of your lazy ways. She will be behind you with a glass of milk when you are running late and won't let you go until she makes sure you finish it. She will even do you homework inn your own handwriting. She will give you thousands of lectures to clean your room but in the end do it herself.

"I love cleaning up messes I didn't make. So I became a Mom."

Having a Prom or Farewell party in school? Your mom will be more excited than you and she will make sure her child look the best. As soon as you start spending more time on your phone and there constant smile on your face she will know something is fishy even if you have not realized it yet.

"Never doubt a mother! She can carry a screaming Toddler, two gallons of milk, talk on her cellphone and still slap the shit out of you for looking at her crazy."

No matter how old you get you will always need your mother to book your doctor appointment and expect her to accompany and explain what's exactly wrong with you.

"There is a legend that if you take a shower and scream out loud "Mom" three times, a nice lady appears bringing the towel you forgot."

She is the one who will keep all your things safe. If you can't find something your mom will always do, she has eyes that could find needle in a haystack.

"Nothing is really lost until mom can't find it."

Love your mom and appreciate the efforts she puts up. Your one word of appreciation could bring a dazzling smile on her face.

A very happy mother's day!
