This is the story about a Tamilian girl.
Which Tamilian girl greets her father with "Kalai vanakkam" ?

In Tamil Kaalai means morning. Vanakkam means Namaskar. But who on earth says "kalai vanakkam"?

At least one says Namaste appa it is understandable. But Kalai vanakkam? Never heard of anyone saying it. in real life . There is no "kalai" vanakkam in tamil.

There is vanakkam, meaning namaste, and it is for any time of the day.

Why doesn't the cvs do their research when they have a story about Tamilians. ?

And then in real life Tamilians do not go around with sandalwood paste in their forehead all the time and with a piece of cloth on the shoulder.

They also wear casual clothes t shirt pants and many times without any mark on their forehead. except just after a bath and puja or when they go to mandir etc.

And Swadheentha the name is different I guess it has a nice meaning. Would like to know what it is.

And then this girl is staying with a Muslim family ( I am sure she is a vegetarian) and then the boy is her Rakhi brother .

Tamilians do not celebrate Rakhi nor do Muslims. So how do they tie Rakhi that too in Chennai?

And I thought the "love story" would be different. But it is going in the tracks of Two states. movie story.

Bihar and Tamil Nadu.

Can they not have some original ideas rather than lifting from movies?

Well at least I know the meaning now. Thanks. Everybody says Vanakkam that much I know. There is no "Morning" in any Indian language. Just a greeting for all times of the day.

Vibhooti or Sandal wood paste all the times people do not have on their forehead.

They make it so stereotypical people feel irritated after some time.

Only In Some Tamil News Channel They Say Kalai Vanakam.Others normally say Vanakam.I am also Tamilian .I don't say Kalai Vanakam at all.We say Vanakam when we some elders or when elders come to home. That to some time only.

Also no women wear Kanchivaram saree n keep flower on head in normal day.Only some function they were Kanchivaram saree.Swa mom always seen wearing Kanchevaram saree.

Also all Tamilians r not vegetarians.

Hinid soap they always make mockery of Tamilians without doing any proper research. One small mercy .The did not make Swa or her family say Aiyyo so many times.

Swa is shown a Tamil Brahmin. So vegetarian is fine per se. And Rakhi I guess her mamu -mami is north Indians.
So when her mamu stayed in Chennai, he might have aksed Swa's mother to tie rakhi. And Swa's mamu seems quite open to various cultures.
If you come to Kerala you will find Christians and Muslims celebrating Onam which is predominantly a Hindu festival. Some even light crackers for Diwali.
And we do put Stars in house for Christmas. So Rakhi is a cultural festival of north India which can be taken by any north Indian without any religion bias.

Actually Swadheenta means Independence...
If you break it to it's roots, "Swa" means self and "Adheen" means control, dependence... which would make being in control of self...

May be I missed to notice it.In which epi they said Swa is a Tamil Brahmin girl.So if she is Tamil Brahmin the vegetarian is fine. I remember in one epi when Azad was eating kabab .He asked Swa will U eat.Swa did not react much.So I felt may be she can occasionally eat non veg. Some of my Brahmin friends eat non veg.
