Shubhangi Atre, who had previously replaced Shilpa Shinde in Chidiya Ghar, considers it to be mere coincidence that she is replacing the actress yet again. She says, "It's completely unintentional. As an actor, I look for good opportunities. I was aware about the ongoing tussle between Shilpa and Binaifer Kohli (TV producer) but it doesn't concern me in any way. I have heard only good things about Benaifer. So I wasn't apprehensive taking up the role. Besides, I have been a huge fan of the show. The character of Angoori is very promising. I'm so glad I am doing it."
Given the scale and popularity of the character, a bevy of established faces were auditioned for the role. So what really worked in the Shubhangi's favour, we ask. "My innocence worked I guess," she says. When we reminded her that Shilpa was furious at being replaced by her and doesn't think she deserved to be cast as Angoori, the actress remained surprisingly composed. She defends herself saying, "What she says or feels is her look out. I am a very positive person. These things don't affect me in any way. I am here to do my job. I am considering this role as a new start so I am not going to copy her. I have my own interpretation of the character."
Shilpa's character Angoori Bhabhi had a tremendous fan following " taking over from her means the actress will have a tough time pleasing the audience. She says, "When it comes to television, it is the character that is larger than the actor. I have got positive feedback from my fans and friends in the industry. I totally understand why replacements get mixed responses from the audience. I think audiences do accept replacements slowly. I am sure they will accept me too. I won't disappoint them."
