Hi everyone,
I am writing this letter, because I feel as a genuine RagLak fan, I need to voice my thoughts. I apologise in advance, if my letter hurts anyone.
When I started watching SwaRagini, it was out of sheer curiosity, because it had Kolkata, at its backdrop. Being a Bengali girl I would definitely watch it. Also, the actress playing the character of Swara's Dida (Tanima Sen), is my favourite Bengali actress. However, little did I realise, that I would actually fall for the unusual character of Ragini Gadodia. This particular character had so many shades, and it was perfectly executed by Tejaswi Prakash. I always believed that Tejaswi was the perfect for the role of Ragini, just as Helly Shah was perfect for the role of Swara (after all I guess they are seleccted after a lot of screen tests).
My bad luck, I guess that I fell for the unusual character and an unusual on-screen jodi (RagLak). I know that RagLak fans are a minority, as compared to SwaSan fans, at least in this forum...and trust me I have no complains about this. Everyone has a right to like or even dislike a particular character, couple or storyline. The saddest part about being a RagLak fan, atleast in this forum is that the Swasan fans outnumber us, by at least a 2:1 ratio (or 2/3 rd majority)...I agree that 2/3rd majority is sufficient to form the ministry, but the 1/3rd unusual, mad fans also exist.
When, you see the name of a serial, it tells you a lot. Similarly the name SwaRagini...actually means Swara+Ragini...i.e...50% of each I guess. Hence, if a Ragini fan expects that at least 20% of the screen time should be devoted to Ragini and her life...is he/ she very wrong? Can you imagine how a Tejaswi fan feels...when suddenly, a beautifully shaped up grey character, turns black all of a sudden. As fans of the actress, we have to remain loyal to her, and accept the change. Can you imagine the torment of a fan? No wonder, Tejaswi had once thought of quitting the show. I am asking this question to any SwasSan fan...guys how ill you all feel if suddenly the character of Swara turns black overnight? Can you really start hating her...or will you admire Helly as the actress. I am sure a true fan will keep on supporting Helly, because of the hard work she is putting in. Unfortunately, only the RagLak/Ragini fans have been tortured in this way and we tolerate it also, just for the sake of the actors.
However, nowadays, it seems that supporting RagLak is a crime. Members forget that it is the actor or actress we are admiring, and appreciating there hardwork. I being doctor, work very hard throughout the day, and when I watch this serial I relax...when I watch Tejaswi acting I feel very nice (similar tot the way in which, a Swara fan likes Helly). When I come to the forum, I love to discuss stuff with the members, because it is a pleasant change from a monotonous job. But as everyone knows, RagLak posts are much lesser than SwaSan posts. At times, I have entered SwaSan posts, and I was shocked the other day to find a curse word being used for Tejaswi. I felt bad and hurt, but again I didn't protest, because arguments are not good for the forum. I personally feel abusing any actor is not good, they all work really hard and put in a lot of effort.
From my side, as a RagLak fan, I have accepted, they are playing a second fiddle to SwaSan, as the script is obvious and I dont like competing about this. To say the truth, I would be happy, that if they change the name of the serial to Swara or SwaSan, then atleast they will be doing justice to the title...and the Ragini/RagLak fans will atleast have no further undue expectations. They can do this by showing that Ragini and Lakshya going off to USA for some business deal and will not return soon (or even killed in a plane crash). They will save a lot of money, by removing two leads. I, for my part, can happily and officially quit this show, if this happens...and trust me the TRPs will not matter because the RagLak fans are minority. SwaSan are competent enough to carry the show and we RagLak fans will not have any false hopes or expectations...and most importantly, there will be no more unnecessary fights in this forum,
