The Shirish Kunder talks about OSO, wife Farah and his upcoming films | No issues: Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder | Editor-director Shirish Kunder, has just launched a production company Shirish Kunder Film Company, which will produce three films by 2009 Joker, Prince of India and Tees Maar Khan (starring SRK?) Here he talks about the company, wife Farah Khan and Tees Maar Khan. How many times have you watched OSO? I have watched it over a 100 times being its editor. Also, I have watched the leftover takes, which could not make it to the final cut, another 10 times. And Sawaariya? Not yet. Farah says it's not easy being married to the editor of your film. I had no issues working on her films as I can adapt to any genre or style of cinema as long as it is aesthetically and technically correct. But she might have had a bad experience choreographing my film.
I am a very difficult person to work with. My penchant for perfection can become torture for others. In my attempt to achieve perfection, I often get upset when I fall short of my own expectations. I can understand her point. I am a pain to work with. Farah feels I will soon end up like Aviator! Will you direct all the films you produce? That's not practically possible. The maximum would be two films every year. But I want to say a lot of stories. So I will team up with some other directors. Have you cast for Joker and Prince of India? We will start shooting for Joker by January 2009 and for Prince of India in the second half of 2009. Only Akshay Kumar has been finalised to play the superhero in Joker. I haven't yet made up my mind on the super villain and the heroine. The role of the super villain is a very challenging one. Why? The super villain has to do a lot of action. He'll be flying all over the city, and will involve intensive cable work. What's your kind of cinema? The primary intention is to entertain. I don't want to restrict myself to any particular genre, budget or language. Joker is a sci-fi action-comedy, Prince of India is an epic action-drama and Tees Maar Khan is a caper comedy. Is Tees Maar Khan a quickie? It is not a quickie. My style of filmmaking entails mammoth scale and grandeur. Tees Maar Khan will be huge. You've made up with SRK? I would like to clarify that there were never any differences between us. And there never will be any. http://www.mid-day.com/hitlist/2007/november/167041.htm
