'I'm yet to reach my peak'
Bipasha Basu is still searching for that 'Midas' quality reports Shilpa Jamkhandikar
She's recovering from a bad cold and cough, and to top it all, she's is having to shoot in a short dress with the AC on full blast. But Bipasha Basu still finds the energy and the will to smile. "I've been like this for a month now but the cold just refuses to go away. I've finally resorted to homeopathy," she smiles.
Well, given that she is a playing a medical student in her next film 'Goal', Bipasha should seem to have a cure for everything. "In 'Goal' I do play the role of a physiotherapist, but there is also a cute love angle between me and John (Abraham), which forms an important part of the story," she says.
Since the film is about football, did Bipasha try her hand at the game at all? "Oh no," she laughs. "I am a terrible player. Only once did John and I dribble a bit in the apartment we were staying at during the shooting. Other than that, I prefer to leave football to the guys."
Bipasha is quite happy with the kind of work she is doing, but says she is still looking for that elusive quality, which makes everything you touch turn to gold.
"I think only Shah Rukh Khan knows what sells. He is the true superstar. If I knew what worked with audiences, I would only do those films. I think I am yet to reach my peak. I am still looking for the kind of roles that would excite me," she says.
Bipasha also dismisses accusations that though she is doing big banner films, her roles are small, saying "For me the role matters, not the length. Even in 'Goal', I enjoyed playing Ruhana. My look for this role was also quite different. I dress mostly in tracks and T-shirts. It's a no make-up look" she ends.
