Your take on this show is on point. I don't usually watch Indian soaps but started watching a few when my mom came to stay with me. Now, the only one I watch is ETRETR & for this I have to stay up until 11pm & get teased by my kids but I still do. Like most of you here, I do it because I so love the chemistry between DD/SK/RM. I loved that Gaytri was a forward thinking young woman with a strong personality and that's why I'm disappointed at the way they've changed her character. Same for Ranaji & RM. I also started watching because anything of the olden days/palaces/jewellery gets me but they have strayed a far way from the original story.

I do struggle with a lot of the story line and concepts because it's so ridiculous and unreal (I do understand it's an entertainment show and not real life) but then I tell myself this is what desi soaps are like so just don't overthink it. I guess I compare it to the western soaps/shows which are more based on realistic themes. The stuff that gets me are things like everyone barging into everyone's bedroom with no privacy. Even the supposed, rather late non-wedding night of RaGa was being watched by BRM/Rags (I mean that was a bit too much 😕) And, since they were married for so long and were so in love, why did they not consumate their marriage? And BRM - for an old person her character is way too active physically - just impossible to be in all the places she is all the time.

A lot of very foreign concepts for me but getting past these and trying to enjoy watching the show, however mad it makes me at times😊 Still hoping for the original strong characters of DD/SK/RM to come back & for BRM to go. Rajeshwari's character is laughable and idiotic. Although loving Savitri (much better dialogues than were given to Gaytri), I must say I would love to see Gaytri back, even if they show some flash backs whilst all this negativity is going on - would be awesome.

All of your points are absolutely valid and I echo them...there are a lot of things that are wrong with the show...and I hope they are addressed sooner than later..

There are a few things that are right though..and they are the reasons why some of us are still sticking around..in the interest of fairness, I thought to enumerate the same 😊

I blame it equally on channel and PH for the state of this show ! The sooner it ends the better for actors and audience !

Agree that the character of Rageshwari was never central to the plot and the track has been very contrived ..!

The show was not about bigamy and I don't think it is still about bigamy...as in, they are not addressing the issue of bigamy..instead they are using it to further a conspiracy...as a result of which, the evil and regressive nature of the practice and its unfairness to women is not getting highlighted either...!

I can only say that I hope they can still turn things around..they have a wonderful cast...and I hope there is still light at the end of the tunnel..because, even while there have been off days, there have been moments of brilliance from both leads..and so also Surekha Sikri..a brilliant actress has unfortunately been asked to deliver an over the top performance..but she has still managed to show her class in portions..!

Yes...it is only when you care about something that you get upset seeing it being downhill...the actors are wonderful...hope there is a turn around soon enough and the show gets better..!

I agree with U. It is still the best show on Zee for sure. I do catch it , but not so religiously. I try to catch the last ten minutes or so, because I am following the show at 10 on Sony- Ek Duje Ke Vaaste. I still enjoy RAGa..I feel this is DD's best performance👏...Sid, of course...can never go for the remote when he is on screen...😳 The track has been written quite well...Just that I am really tired of BRM drama...So I just tune in to catch RaGa when I can.

we r all fed up of the plots n plans of super powerful vamps in this show. Luckily for us in this particular track, they r showing RNJ more independent, intelligent n assertive which is good n hope it stays like that till the end. RNJ is still a puzzle for all of us which we r trying to crack n enjoying doing so. He's being shown as the RNJ of the first 60 odd episodes and am happy for that.

G as SV also has some advantage that is she can say whatever she wants to say without the fear of MU r disrespect to the King. She is saucy, spunky n more bold when compared to G. she has spine to take stand. RASA r so refreshing after that torturous BM n other nonsensical tracks.

If the CVs stick to intelligent story telling n strong lead characters with some +ve supporting characters, viewers will enjoy the show more. I really wish they end this BRM n RAgeswari track a.s.a.p. n bring some political track with strong n intriguing leads. For a show in this genre to succeed, they need both the leads strong n intelligent. Hope the CVs will keep it in mind while writing tracks.

• Yes, I am still watching ETR only because of DD and Sid. they are literally holding the show together, and any increase in the TRP is 100% due to their efforts. DD is very brave to do this, unfortunately her role is not garnering enough media attention because the serial is not exactly breaking records!! She is operating outside her comfort zone totally and doing a great job at it. I remember having a long discussion about her in the initial phase of ETR
• The track started off well, but this week it has stagnated. The dinner date with Rageshwari was almost shoved in, to give her and Ranaji a chance to be on screen together. They should steer away from promoting RaRa pronto. But who's to tell them!
• Production values are still classy, side stories like Swarna-Lakhan are interesting.
• they have a lot of unresolved issues - Ranaji's birth lineage etc to move on with..

Zee now that I watch the channel, runs similar tracks in every serial, as a pattern. Jamai Raja jas a memory loss track!!!

I agree, for DD, Savitri is a class act. Didn't know she had such depths and I salute her for donning the current look.

But I do wish the writers didn't fall prey to memory loss. What happened to the fact that Ranaji isn't a king after all. What's the point of all this subterfuge then? Killing off Lakshaya seems pointless since he was the one who was to replace Ranaji on the throne. With him gone and any chance of a waris gone with him, BRM just needs to reveal Rana's real antecedents.

Since this truth exists, I don't see the point in what's going on at the moment. It's fun to watch the razor-tongued Savitri who is as brave as she is innovative. Though it seems odd that Ranaji gives so much attention to a mere servant, it's ok since we know who she is...you are right, the romance as it is, is great to watch. Just wish they don't drag it too much and hope BRM revealing the real 'face' of Savitri takes place soon so that we can move to the next phase of the story.

Yes, it makes absolutely no sense for BRM to be holding on to the secret about RNJ's antecedents..because they give the Kunwars a chance to even challenge any will that RNJ might have made given that he has not a royal by birth but rather a fraud perpetrated on the royal family by RM..!

Yes, it is past time that they closed this track now!

I am seeing for DD...she is legendary actress
