Naj...I used the example of Shahjahan simply because his monument to his wife's memory is considered one of the greatest physical manifestations of love...although like most other Kings, he was a polygamist and had a huge harem.

The point simply is that every love story has its own parameters and sometimes, attempts to impose our parameters or value systems may not be the right thing to do.

Read or watch a story for what it is...rather than what you want it to be..particularly a TV show which is a WIP till the day it dies..!

Yes, all the issues that you have raised are valid..but yet, the show holds us..and that was all the point of this post was!

Agree with you 👍🏼 The reason I watch the serial is Siddhant & Drashti though current track is full of negativity. Both of them are pulling off the characters very well. Both of them have different shades of their characters. May be they are trying to exaggerate the plot a bit, like showing BRM winning every time. It's true that we can't find it logical, but just hope everything will be on right track soon. Too much of drama can spoil the show too. Viewers often get bored of watching the same thing. Cvs,It's time to think of overcoming this mess.

Thank you...yes, excessive negativity is not a good thing..but I believe it takes time to get out of a situation..and at the moment, the new writer seems to be doing a good job of trying

Your take on this show is on point. I don't usually watch Indian soaps but started watching a few when my mom came to stay with me. Now, the only one I watch is ETRETR & for this I have to stay up until 11pm & get teased by my kids but I still do. Like most of you here, I do it because I so love the chemistry between DD/SK/RM. I loved that Gaytri was a forward thinking young woman with a strong personality and that's why I'm disappointed at the way they've changed her character. Same for Ranaji & RM. I also started watching because anything of the olden days/palaces/jewellery gets me but they have strayed a far way from the original story.

I do struggle with a lot of the story line and concepts because it's so ridiculous and unreal (I do understand it's an entertainment show and not real life) but then I tell myself this is what desi soaps are like so just don't overthink it. I guess I compare it to the western soaps/shows which are more based on realistic themes. The stuff that gets me are things like everyone barging into everyone's bedroom with no privacy. Even the supposed, rather late non-wedding night of RaGa was being watched by BRM/Rags (I mean that was a bit too much 😕) And, since they were married for so long and were so in love, why did they not consumate their marriage? And BRM - for an old person her character is way too active physically - just impossible to be in all the places she is all the time.

A lot of very foreign concepts for me but getting past these and trying to enjoy watching the show, however mad it makes me at times😊 Still hoping for the original strong characters of DD/SK/RM to come back & for BRM to go. Rajeshwari's character is laughable and idiotic. Although loving Savitri (much better dialogues than were given to Gaytri), I must say I would love to see Gaytri back, even if they show some flash backs whilst all this negativity is going on - would be awesome.

Other than savitri being shown sensible and fresh in first week and some change to rana too..the show is still in a very pathetic mode. Just because rageshwari is shoved forcefully to make her permanent i cant warm up to that character or actress as both are useless for the show and doing nothing from past 2-3 months. This is one show which did nothing to the original plot and in yesterday's episode, Sid n DD were giving below average acting and not in their characters, as if they are fed up ! Its not me, i found out many felt so. Nilanjana is not entitled for the post of word creative, full stop. Zee is worst channel whose all shows run in bigamy n black magic. Shahjahan may had many wives but here the plot was not at all bigamy when it started and turning it to bigamy also didnt do any good for show as this much TRP and more they were getting without any third wheels. I must say Zee creatives are most dumb people i have seen. Surekha ji, better dont tell anything about her, she looked atleast little royal in first BRM track but now she resembles those big mouthed OTT women in Star Plus and Colors serials. Since RM is missing from action, the only royal presence also gone. So all in all other than DD's acting, the show still remain pathetic, way away from plot and reality. 1940s plot doesnt mean they can compromise reality and relationship for vamps and show nonsense ! I blame it equally on channel and PH for the state of this show ! The sooner it ends the better for actors and audience !
