@Shruthi: Thanks for sharing. Quite interesting comparison. So far all cast proved their acting skill but to match or surpass dara singh is a challenging task.

I am waiting for my real lord in reel form.

no way, no one can beat deepika as sita, she wasn't quiet as they are making her out to be look at the scenes where she has convo with ravan and hanuman or her convo with lord rama, the scene where she submerse into earth and I haven't touched the performances of lahiri as laxman, jog as bharat or rajda as shatrughana they were way too good.

I think the writer of the article is simply in awe with SKR. clearly visible in her writing. But no one can deny that 1986 Ramayan is the classic.

2008 one- oh God, I saw some scenes on youtube and it was sooo sooo Daily Soapish (saw the scene where Sita says she doesn know how to wear valkal and Manthara sayin aao bhaurani, m sikhati hu)...the presentatn of kaikeyi n manthara was of typical daily soap vamps...

Grusha Ji in SKR was awesome in that track. Character portrayal is also good in SKR for Kaikayi.

And i never thought I would say this- but SKR Manthara deserves less hatred than NDTV manthara😆.

see for me arvind trivedi was damn good as ravan. And Dhara singh he was superlative as the article says.Author should have touched Lakshman and Indrajith of 1986 Ramayan. Vijay Arora also delivered superior performance as Indrajith

NDTV Ramayan I had tried few epi couldnt connect to it, hence stopped watching

nice article..but reading the article,it seems clearly tht the writer have not watchd the 1986 ramayan fully,but has wtchd the 2008 one & watchng skr..so i agree to disagree wd the author..

frstly,IMO,comparisons shud nt b made..espclly wd skr..bcz skr is a NEW VERSION of ramayan,not the actual ramayan..so skr is cmpltly dffrnt frm the othr 2 shows as those wr pure "ramayan" whch we all knw & read..so comparisons bttr b avoided,but if it's compared in terms of looks,choices of cast,acting skills,then HANDS DOWN..undoubtedly 1986 ramayan WINS..i hv not watchd the 2008 ramayan so i won't comment on it..but i'v wtchd the 1986 one & i am wtchng skr..& whover hs wtchd the '86 epic,they wl agree tht it ws CLASSIC..just PERFECT..

dipika chikhalia & arun govil as sita-ram were jus perfect..they literally lookd HEAVENLY..GODLY...people usd to fold their hands whnvr they wr shown on tv as siya-ram..inspite of knwing that they'r just actors nd not god..THIS WAS THE IMPACT..❤️ whch does not hppn wd skr..we enjoy the show & like their performances..👍🏼 but the divinity whch usd to b present in the '86 classic,is nt present..arun govil's mesmerizing voice & soothing,effortless acting skills...made people think tht may b lord ram ws like him only..😳 (just as it hs hppnd wd mohit raina..😆 people thinks lord shiv must look like him only..😳) now coming to dipika chikhalia..my god..WAT A BEAUTY! SHE IS THE BEST 'SITA' IN TV WORLD..hands down..the BEAUTY,the SUAVENESS,the STUBBORNNESS,the MOTHERLY-FEEL..everythng..ws APT..❤️

nt only sita-ram..but evn sunil lahiri as lakshman..sanjay jog as bharat..sameer rajda as shatrughan..& not to forget,dara singh as hanuman & arvind trivedi as ravan..& all the other actors of the '86 classic were beyond PERFECTION..👏 if anyone watches the whole series & starts comparing each of them with the cast of skr,in choices of artists/acting skills/looks..he/she wl definitely agree tht '86 classic was THE BEST..NO ONE CAN MATCH THEIR LEVEL..👏 "DIVINITY' has been only there in the '86 epic & in no other..

but yes..the actors who hv equally proved their acting skills in skr & has immersed himslf in their chrctrs r..bijay anand as janak, dalip tahil as dashrath, bhargavi chirmule as sunaina, yukti kapoor as urmila, sandeep mohan as guru vashishth & manish wadhwa as vishwamitra..👏 thz particular actors/actresses hv been phenomenal in skr & cn b compared RESPECTIVELY wd mulraj rajda, bal dhuri, urmila bhatt, anjali vyas, sudhir dalvi & shrikant soni...😳

the rest of the cast of skr,including the leads,cannot b & also shud nt b compared wd that of the classic ramayan of '86..no one cn match '86's level in ANY WAY..BUT,having said that...i wud also say that the skr cast is also vry nice in its own way..& they'r doing good too..😃 i watch skr regularly as well..😊
