WHAT A BEAUTIFUL EPISODE with Suman reminiscing her childhood, together with Shravan. Such amazing acting by Nikita... her acting was so real, so nuanced, & there was just so much vulnerability to Suman that she brought out. Namik also did his part well by being the support to Suman.. you could totally feel Shravan's heart break as he watched Suman.
The attention to detail & just the way it was so emotional without being OTT, made it such a treat to watch. This has got to be my favourite episode, & yet another episode that will stay with me for a long long time. It was just magical.
Some of my favourite bits (to be honest, I loved the entire episode but these are some of the bits that really stayed with me)
1. Shravan noticing the way Mami's taunts about Suman's mother were hurting Suman & his attempt to defend Suman's mother. This was not the first time Shravan noticed Mami's behaviour, but I love how he stepped up this time, very subtly without offending Mami, to try to make Suman feel better.
2. Suman walking past the gate into her house..as though she was almost in a trance & Shravan following behind her. It was like they were entering a new world together. And truly today, Suman did bring Shravan into her world as she let her guard down & let her emotions flow.
3. Suman sitting on the swing..narrating how there was no one to swing it for her & Shravan walking up to her & placing his hand on the swing. Even though he didn't ultimately swing her, just that gesture was enough. He wanted to swing it for her. The scene so subtly brought out how deep Shravan's feelings for her run..the way he just wanted to make it up to her..give her all that she never had, & fulfill every desire of hers.
4. Suman's delight upon hearing the sound of her scooter's bell. So bittersweet; as though time never stopped but she moved ahead in life. And Shravan watching her with watery eyes, as though she was some delicate doll he wanted to hug.
5. ShraMan sitting on the stairs together..what a beautiful shot.
6. Suman taking out the bindi almost immediately after she saw herself in the mirror. The scene so beautifully brought out how Suman had to grow up ahead of her time & be a tough 'man' of the house, take on the responsibilities.. so much so that she forgot what it is like to be a woman. To dress up, to look pretty & have a life beyond work.
7. And what a perfect time for Shravan to step in to console her. I LOVED THE WAY THE HUG WAS EXECUTED. The way Shravan placed his hands on her shoulder to tell her that she wasn't alone. And the way Suman just leaned in for the hug. The way it was so right, because her best friend was with her. And the way she just cried on his chest, taking off all the burden she's lived with all these years & just allowing Shravan to be a part of it, & share that burden. And the way he placed his hand above her head like a protector, just like how elder members of the family place their hands above our heads to bless us.
Shravan didn't need to say anything today. His every gesture & expression today screamed love. The way he watched her, & just wanted to do everything in his power to fulfill every desire her heart ever wanted, was so so beautiful. He truly became the family that Suman never had, & in his embrace, she found her real home.
I don't know what to say really. The CVs just keep amazing us with one beautiful episode after another. And ShraMan..AHHH I officially declare them as my favourite couple on Indian Telly ever.
