Beautiful write up Sam, lovely read 👏
when her vulnerability meets his silent support, when her heart finds hope in his gestures, when her innocence reflects in his smile, when her emotions are handled by his presence of mind, when her tears find his shoulder.. then it's nothing but Love !!
i like the subtlety with which he handles her.. like he doesn't say any comforting words to her. .,,like main hoon na.. don't worry type... but tactically diverts her attention to something else, he mellows down when she is angry, he takes the lead when she is stupid or when she is in need.. yesterday when nanu says shravan has no license to fight case in India.. shravan was about to reveal .. then he turns towards sumo reads her tensed expressions and then he turns to nanu and says I have got it in the morning. Similarly today when nanu was talking ill about her dad, her eyes well up.. he notices that and immediately changes the topic ...these things can be missed or overlooked, if not paid attention... but the writing of such scenes is flawless.. subtle yet poignant.
from the outside world,, if you, look at them... he isn't noticing her or he isn't supporting her.. but when you come into their world, all you see is Ek duje ke vaaste.. his every expression reflected by her emotions and actions and vice versa. Today, we saw the other side of Sumo and she showed it him, now I understand how and why she was like that, bossy , image conscious in school..it was not out of choice for being "cool" but out of chance where she has to grow , handle herself .
But today, shravan sees a totally different , a very vulnerable side to her...I loved everything from the moment they entered the house. Shravan didn't utter a word, but he assured her through out, he spoke to her with his expressions and gestures, which was amazingly done. Kudos to writers for handling that sooo beautifully without him having to speak a work.. but his silence was was all complimenting and reciprocating to her words, her despair, her pain, her tears, her agony ,
The swing scene was amazing, like you said, without actually swinging the swing, his gesture to stand behind and intention to swing was soo beautifully done !! and many more moments were equally amazing, the bindi scene was done so beautifully,. In the bindi scene, she reveled how she wanted to get ready when is grown up.. but she couldn't because she is living for her family and not for herself.. but when we look back, for the first time she ever concentrated on getting ready, on make up , lipstick and was conscious of her looks was when she got to know that Shravan is coming to India, similarly she wanted to look her best for his party . It was for him that she got ready twice...otherwise we hardly see her conscious of her looks .
And lastly towards the end of unraveling of plethora of emotions for Sumo,.. with "wish they were here, with me today " tugs your heart.. but Shravan walks forward, stands before her.. sumo, who was controlling her tears could no longer, when she saw him right there in front of her..she leaned into him and let the tears flow... she wanted someone.. an emotional support who takes care of her, pampers her, protects her, supports her, guides her, secures her, safeguards her, soothes her and just be with her ... and Shravan is that person in her life, with whom she revealed her inner most despair, whose actions revokes any reaction from her, for whom she likes to look her best, whose opinions matter her the most, who means everything to her !!
amazing performances by Nikita and Namik 👏 and brilliant writing !!
