Just like Nandini wanted a mother of her own, she wants to have a father of her own even if it is a step father. From her point of view, its ok. Anandi should tell her more about Shiv so that Nandini will develop more intimacy with her dead father. She should be told that dadisa brought up her children as a single mother and it is ok not to have the physical presence of a father.
