Pyarelal's last musical venture was Govinda starrer 'Deewana Mastana' in 1997. He stopped composing after the sad demise of his friend and co-musician Laxmikant. OSO has its titled inspired from showman Subhash Ghai's super hit blockbuster 'Karz' that also owes its musical success to Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
About his return to musical scenario with OSO, Pyarelal says, "I wasn't too keen at the outset. Farah requested me to do a song to pay a tribute to the music of the '70s and the '80s. I agreed because my wife and daughter wanted me to return to music."
This song was done on an extravagant scale for which the veteran musician preferred live instruments to electronica. In fact Farah had approached Pyarelal with the offer to do three songs but he preferred to go with one only.
Now, the veteran musician is all set to bounce back to composing full time film music. He has a few offers in hand and will resume soon.
Apart from the movies, Pyarelal will perform at the Royal Festival Hall, London, with the Philharmonica orchestra, which will have 138 musicians. His book 'Indian Summer' will be heading for the Indian markets soon.
