Jassi actor accuses Aadesh Shrivastav's producer brother of fraud

Actor Ravi Gosain, aka Chaman, of Sony's Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, and director Sunil Salgia have alleged that music director Aadesh Shrivastav's producer brother, Chitresh Shrivastav, has not paid them for their work on his serial Lakhon Mein Teen for Pakistan's Geo TV.
Gosain says, "I was told that the serial would be the first Indo-Pak TV production aimed at mending the countries tenuous relations, and by this we were given the impression that we were doing something good. Any doubts we had were put to rest knowing that Aadesh Shrivastav's brother was producing it, there was a certain trust which compelled us to make that serial. Now, I feel like Chitresh has cheated us. The serial was completed and aired but the producer has yet to pay me Rs 40,000. Whereas, Chitresh has received his dues from Geo TV. Whenever I ask him for the money, he suggests I ask Prasanna. But I only know of Chitresh as the producer of the serial. How can I claim the money from Prasanna? I don't even know who he is. Prasanna could very well be a fictitious character created by Shrivastav!"
Amit Behl who is currently shooting for Shobhna Desai's Mamta, says that he too was taken for a ride by Chitresh Shrivastav. "Chitresh Shrivastav and Ramesh Prasanna formed a company to begin three projects. These were: a music-based show, a drama series, Faasley (that I acted in), and Lakhon Mein Teen. I agreed to work on Faasley because I knew the director, Seema Kapoor well. (She is Anu Kapoor's sister). But something went wrong between the two producers, and now both are blaming each other for non-payment. This also delayed the telecast of the show. We shot for the show in 2003 but it was telecast in September 2003. The 26-episode weekly serial didn't even get an extension. Their company dissolved and they divided the liabilities between themselves. Chitresh showed me a letter which said that my liabilities lie with Ramesh. But actually, when we began shooting for the serial, I only knew Chitresh – I had signed the contract with him. I only got to know Ramesh Prasanna later. Now I can't even ask Chitresh for money although I signed the contract with him. And Ramesh on the other hand, keeps assuring me that he will pay my dues when he has the money. I did one more telefilm with him called Chand Lamhe, for which I have received 75 per cent of the amount. Just 15 days back, Ramesh called me to ask if I would work with him. I said, I would only if he cleared my previous dues. I am in a 'cash 22' situation. At the most I can file a case with the Cine Artistes' Association."
Chitresh Shrivastav, for his part, says, "That company was under partnership. It suffered losses and got dissolved. The dissolution deed clearly reads who owes what to whom. I have cleared my dues. The liability of the people in question lies with Prasanna."
Ramesh Prasanna could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
