How hard is it for outsiders to survive in this industry?

It's mighty tough! Look at the ratio of outsiders against star kids or rather industry related people. Outsiders rarely get dream debuts compared to star kids. Yes, not many make it to the top nor survive but it's known fact that star kids do get more opportunities than outsiders. I'm not deriding actors but the chances Abhishek, Shahid or even Ranbir get even when their movies flop, is something outsiders would rarely or rather never get

of course the number of outsiders who dont make it big in Bollywood is because of the deluge of star kids...

im very very sure we would hv fabulous actors and actresses who look fantastic and can act fantastic but then only so many films can be made and released and the public can spend only so much money to go buy a ticket and watch..so the ones with money and clout make films. and survive inspite of ten flops and those talented outsiders who give one flop or two stop getting work..divyendu, raj kumar rao, jimmy shergill, vicky kaushal, saquib saleem, siddharth (south) ,kunal khemu, kunal,

rajeev khandelwal, and a host of wonderful actors would be at the top now. to be honest i dont think we woud hv had sunny deol or bobby deol or tuhar kapoor or sohail khan etc acting if they werent connected.

taapsee pannu, amrita rao, yami gautam, bhagyashree, kalki koechlin, huma qureshi would be haivng far more success then they are right now if the spaces werent etaen up by star daughters.

Outsiders will only make it if they are really good, or for some reason people like them, such as Katrina Kaif, who was all about the looks.

The others survive even if they have been crap, outsiders don't have that luxury. Star kids also get the biggest films and most support so it's difficult for outsiders to make it big.

It is very very hard from what I have seen so far.

I think female outsiders find it easier because they can sleep their way up to their glory but not the men. All A list actresses, except Sonam and Alia are outsiders!

Men find it hard! How many guys can Kjo accomodate?

They need extra-ordinary acting talent, looks, X factor to be noticed Otherwise nothing works! Nada!

Ranveer is an outsider and he is pretty good. Ranbir would also do goo had he been an utsider. some people really have it in them.

One can say DP is not but Pari is an outsider. PC never had the power or position to make Pari's career. She struggled most of her career herself!
Had Pari not been a part of YRF's marketing team, she would not have been noticed ever!
