Good to hear that Divyanka is balancing her life well. To be honest, Vivek is not a newcomer anymore. He's been around this telly industry for 4 years now and time spread doesn't mean a thing. Many actors and actresses, who were around DT/KP's age or slightly senior but got established themselves before DT or KP, are forgotten in 2016. Ultimately talent and hardwork stay.
The way "London returned corporate guy" is over hyped, doesn't go well with me. And it's not about Vivek only, it's kinda our habit to feel good unnecessarily demeaning ourselves collectively. Since a Bengali proverb is mentioned, I wanna mention another one. "Bilat pherot" meaning London returned. Back in British India, Kolkata was the national hub for business, science and big land lords too. So these landords or even lower middle class people used to admire anyone who went to England/London and they used to sent their children there at any cost. Many of those returned back to India doing or achieving nothing from London but the "Bliat pherot" tag used to give them honor, pride and undue advantage over deserving candidates. Time has changed, we've got many world class institutions like IIT, IIM and many more but the colonial mentality of ours isn't changed at all.

The colonial mentality of ours hasn't changed because it's now transformed into post-colonial syndrome. More than the feel good factor, it's being used for INTIMIDATION which serves the purpose of influencing gullible minds to applaud hypothetical achievements which may or may not be there and if it's there, then the intention of subtle intimidation is to amplify the achievement to an insane proportion. We did a business case study on this issue. This post-colonial syndrome was vibrant in India over a decade ago, business groups having business relations with foreign countries or foreign companies were eager to appoint "white people" or at least people with foreign degree in key management positions just to get "wow factor" from their foreign counterparts. They didn't care if those imported foreign work forces were less deserving or skilled than the local candidates. Because of this type of recruitment practice, other desi/local companies used to get intimidated and they tried to adopt this practice as well which resulted in a very vibrant ideal situation for the foreign returned people and parents, just like colonial times, were desperate to send their children in whatever foreign institutions for higher education. After a decade or so, things have changed in the corporate field, now they know that any random "foreign" people or degree doesn't ensure superiority, hence there is a sharp decline in the foreign recruitment trend. But,unfortunately our mindset hasn't changed a bit . Interestingly, this post colonial syndrome is now imported to China! Many business organizations in China recruit white people to attain the "wow factor". God knows how they interact with each other to run business as most of them don't know English in the first place! 😆

Another interesting rather funny practice is going on in the US. Start up companies appoint local NRIs with thick Indian accent, not the ones who have fluent American accent and place them to communicate with their clients over telephone to have the call center effect. It creates a delusion which forces the clients to think that these companies have diversified business all over the world, hence they have outsourced a certain portion of their business in India. 😆
