Is aamir khan serious about Independence day Release?

It is a known fact that during the Christmas holidays the box office is usually dominated by an Aamir Khan release. However this year, things are set to change. If what we hear is anything to go by then, in all likelihood Aamir might just prepone the release of his forthcoming release Dangal to coincide with Independence Day.

Apparently, Aamir Khan who is seriously contemplating shifting the release date ahead had claimed that Dangal is a patriotic film and talks about the empowerment of the daughters of India. In fact since the film strongly showcases love for the nation and tells the story of a character who carries a dream of winning a gold medal for India, which his daughters fulfil, Aamir apparently feels that the best day to release the film would be August 15.

While an official confirmation on the same is awaited, if the release date of the film is shifted to August 15, Dangal will go head to head with the two other films slated for release namely the Hrithik Roshan starrer Mohenjo Daro that is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and the Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom.
