Ok guys, I read all the 19 pages of posts on another thread about someone saying that she is arpita...and am still not sure if this is Arpita or not, because i think her bday was in march and it says august in the profile..
However at the risk of using some of my time for a futile purpose, let begin by saying I appreciate comments by freeze and sana_aus and they really hit the nail on the head. And also if this really is Arpita, then I commend you for the guts that you have shown by coming to the forum and writing abt your thoughts and asking for advice to improve. I think that is the first step for any person towards on the path of success and eventually greatness... We all make mistakes, we all fall but the one who rises and learns from them eventually is a winner...By winner I dont mean that its a race against anyone that u have to win...but a race with ur ownself...in the effort to become better than who u are...as Aryton Senna said...many times the biggest competition is with ur own self..and I do believe that life is a set of experiences where there is no real destination and the journey is the destination in itself but improving, learning and becoming better as human being brings peace, satisfaction and joy to the inner self and help us realize ur destiny....making us a winner
To begin with.. let me tell u, I used to watch saregama and still do, where u won the golden voice hunt, and when gurkul started, i was supporting u to be in top 2...but somewhere down the line...i slowly started feeling distanced from u and ...Qazi whom I dint think much of as a singer...i felt was drawing my attention...
Now it has come to a point where Iam supporting him and RR for FJ.... Why I wonder
And my answer in one word is ATTITUDE.....ATTITUDE IS WHAT DETERMINES SUCESS AND FAILURE IN LIFE.........
Even though I still think u may be among the best singers in the gurukul but positive outlook towards life not only takes u forward but also gives a spark to people around u and those who r watchin u...
You said at one point, that u believe in ur thoughts and are honest with them and that ur very much in ur own arena where u dont really worry bt others...
Well with all due respect... I admire ur honesty but I see a contradiction here... if u are so much in ur own world....why do u compare so much with others...why can u not compare with ur own previous performance..why cant u focus on becoming better than what u were yesterday than comparing with those whom u think ur better than today.....CONFIDENCE IS A GREAT THING... BUT ITS A DOUBLE EDGED SWORD...WAVER A BIT AND U HURT URSELF....BUT TRUE CONFIDENCE IS NOT INSECURE....TRUE CONFIDENCE DOES NOT COMPARE WITH OTHERS OR FIND ANYONE INFERIOR THAN ONES SELF....TRUE CONFIDENCE IS A SILENT BELIEF IN ONES ABILITY WHILE RESPECTING EVERYONE ELSES ABILITY AND UNDERSTANDING THAT EVERYONE CAN LEARN , IMPROVE AND BE BETTER..... I am not saying u dont have that but unfortunately, most of the time it came out as negative energy where u compared ur self with others and said ur better than this or that or people dont know...well u should have just focused on trying and doing ur best...and not said anythin negative abt anyone.
We all know Mr. Amitabh Bachan and where he has reached in life....we all agree that he is a great actor...probably the best ever, but have u ever seen him say anything negative abt any other actor OR even blowing his own trumpet.... I dont think so... Thats modesty. Modesty and confidence are not opposites, they go hand in hand...its important to believe in oneself, but also important to respect others and understand that everyone has ability and potential...
As freeze pointed out, history is full of examples, Lincoln failed 30 times before he succeded, edison working on a project failed 634 times and then discovered the bulb.. each time saying that he found another way how it could not be made and helped him eliminate it, einstien, hawking, bachchan..so many people who were rejected changed their fields through their work....WHILE WORK IS WHAT MADE THEM FAMOUS...ITS THEIR ATTITUDE THAT MADE THEM GREAT......U ARE WHAT U THINK U ARE...THINK POSITIVE AND U BECOME POSITIVE AND CONTINUE TO TRY AND LEARN..THE DAY U THINK U KNOW EVERYTHING THE DOWNFALL BEGINS AND U LOSE.....
What bigger example of that but ur friend Qazi< We know he is not the greatest of singers, but he is the most improved singer....he is a good performer...but what endears to him is his attitude..the positivity is going to take him places....without sayin that he is better than anyone....he is trying to improve...thats wht u need to do.....YOU WERE A GOOD SINGER AND STILL ARE...BUT U CAN BECOME MUCH BETTER...LIKE JAVED AKTHAR SAID IN ONE EPISODE, INSTEAD OF LOOKING DOWN ON THOSE WHOM U THINK UR BETTER THAN...LOOK AT THOSE WHO ARE 1000 TIMES BETTER THAN U...LOOK AT LATA MANGESHKAR..LOOK AT ASHA JI, KISHORE KUMAR, RAFI, MUKESH
...INFACT IN AN INTERVIEW ON REDIFF ON HER BIRTHDAY, LATA JI SAID, SHE DOESNT THINK HER VOICE IS THAT GREAT OR SHE IS A GREAT SINGER... THAT IS HUMILITY....BUT NOT LACK OF CONFIDENCE......WE ALL SHOULD TRY BUT REMEBER HE WHO HAS GIVEN TO U, HAS GIVEN TO OTHERS TOO....
The same God almighty has given u a gift...make use of it to become better as a human being and learn...not to show that ur better than someone else....so in the end it boils down to ur own self...ur own space ur own realization...

Like I said, we all are humans, we all make mistakes... but he who learns and tries to improve has taken the first step.... and always believe in ur self...u are a good singer with potential...and u can become great...just keep trying ...but always know that if ur good, others are good too... no one is born superior or inferior, better or worse...anyone can become better.....SO STOP COMPARING WITH OTHERS...COMPARE WITH URSELF....COMPETE WITH 100% NOT WITH WHAT PERCENTAGE OTHERS GOT....THATS HOW U RISE..
