YHM; a mere TV show, immensely dear to me. I can't imagine a fraction of my life without it. It gave me hope, joy and a major sense of contentment! I met IshRa who taught me how to live, laugh & smile again ... I feel complete with it's presence in my life ...

My fanfic "Khushnuma" is an ode to the brilliance YHM was meant to be ...

Hey forum-waasis, this is Umera; not new here. In fact I've penned several stories on IshRa yet none has received the appreciation I hope for. Nonetheless, here I am today about to post another one of my works' in the hope that at least this will do me some good!! I hope I'll make new friends out here! 😳

Prologue BelowHis life was barren without her. Having all the luxuries still couldn't satisfy his needs... all he wanted was a companion; a support system! That woman's betrayal had turned a happy go lucky chap to one who was heartless. He felt no emotion, no joy; no contentment. Had it not been for his mother.. life would have never taken this beautiful turn. He had been blessed with a second chance in love. After initial reluctance, he had ultimately submitted himself to her love. He was hopeful; hanging on, he lived each day in satisfaction. He had now changed from a cold hearted man to one who appreciated all life would throw at him...

Character Sketch

Raman Kumar Bhalla wasn't what he was today! He had oil dripping from his hair, spectacles and braces on his teeth! He was a total geek. A graduate of Business Management; his mother wanted to see him settled. In her haste, she didn't realise she was binding her son in an atrocious match with a girl who had her head in the skies...

Shagun Arora was an aspiring model and film actress. It was a different story that her mother was against the idea! She felt stifled! Her marriage with Raman was a compromise to appease her mother. However, once she met Ashok... life took a 360 split!

Ashok Khanna eyed Shagun Arora. They met at social events & award functions but there were hidden agendas and Raman was kept unaware until Shagun dumped him for all the luxuries' Ashok bribed her with

Ishita was an infertile woman who was treated as a stigma to the Balachandran family as she couldn't bear them a heir. Subbu divorced her within 2 years of marriage and she slipped into depression until the day she met Raman

Subbu was a hypocrite, a spineless dog who had absolutely no regard for Ishita! He was lead by the words of his mother

Devyani Balachandran was the Matriarch of the Balachandran household. Her words meant the world to her family. She was the one who poisoned Subbu's mind against Ishita!

Madhavi Iyer was Ishita's Amma. All this lady ever wanted was to see Ishita settled in her married life... she composed Ishita during her low time and collaborating with Raman's mother they arranged their marriage!

That was the character sketch! I hope you guys get the crux of the story and wish to follow through this FF. If so just leave a word of encouragement! It'll really motivate me to continue...

Hi people! I'm here with part one of my YHM fanfic. I hope you'll like it! Please leave your comments behind. Thanks!

He stood in front of the mirror and combed his hair once he came straight out the shower. He gelled his hair to one side and picked up his spectacles from the vanity table to put them on. He looked so adorable thus Mummyji who had dropped into check on him walked in and applied a kala tikka to her Puttar as to protect him from any evil eye. He leaned down to take her blessings whilst she reciprocated the gesture by fondly running her hand through his hair and swelling with pride of how capable her Raman Puttar was!

Just then Papaji walked in and pat Raman on his back to grab his attention. Raman turned over to his Papaji and repeated the same with him. Instead of letting Raman touch his feet; his father took him into a bone crushing hug. They broke apart after sometime and Raman who held a confused countenance was met with the reply that he had passed achieving the highest degree of honour.

It was a moment of pride and the trio couldn't help but cry with joy as they thanked Babaji with all that he had bestowed upon them.

Ishita was so happy today! After all, it was her Vandu Akka's wedding! She personally welcomed all their guests, took care of the catering, decoration, music, etc. She'd made sure that everything was done to perfection with no lagging! However, she was hell irritated with one idiot who tried to follow her wherever she went! Not wanting to disrupt the ambience; Ishita took the ignorant chap aside & gestured him to spill out that which was on his mind! He nonchalantly blurted out whilst she stood glaring at him ...

The rituals were going on and so Ishita walked away not wanting to get into this mess at the moment!

After a couple of weeks when the Iyers invited Vandu's in laws over to dinner, she spot him again! This freaked her out. Therefore, she took Vandu Akka to her room and told her sister of her fears. It was then that Ishita was told that he was but Bala's brother who the family hadn't been able to meet as he was busy with his studies abroad. Yet now that he had arrived; they'd thought of introducing him.

Vandu also assured Ishu that she'll have a chat with Subbu so she shouldn't worry!

That made Ishu feel better but she didn't join the family for dinner, excusing herself under the pretense of studies.

Raman sat waiting for the receptionist to call him in for an interview with Ashok Khanna at one of the major MNC's in India. He was so eager to start work with the man he'd heard such praises of. He considered it his good fortune that Ashok Khanna thought of him being capable of handling his business as a manager!

He was soon called in and he set foot towards the man's cabin; setting his hair and checking his file to ensure he had all his qualifications ready.

Ashok Khanna sat there on his chair, slouching, his feet on the table, shamelessly watching an obscene film. Raman got embarrassed and turned to leave whilst Ashok who realised he hadn't set the correct impression turned the TV off and went over to Raman to bring him in...

Raman set his spectacles and patiently waited for the interview to begin. However, the youngster was in for a disappointment when Mr.Khanna appointed him without even bothering to ask him any questions. Upon being questioned on the same, he casually replied

"Mr.Bhalla this company needs people like you who are simple and don't try to be the boss. Remember this is my office and you'll only do what I ask you to do. Never use your own brains! You may leave now!"

Raman walked out of the office in a dilemma. On the one hand, where he was ecstatic he had been taken in as a manager at the MNC; he also felt unease and discomfort.

"Puttar we must only be concerned with our work. You just work wholeheartedly and you never know; you might even become the CEO!"
