Sorry replying in parts as typing from phone...
I see this whole thing of agnipariksha in the terms of 4 yugas...
Satyuga- the most pure one where ppl followed all rules...
Tretayuga- ppl did follow rules but lost it to ego, traditions and principles as ravana... Ram did kill ravana... But what happens when they return back? The dead ravana found place in the minds of ppl. Was ram able to conquer it? If u see sita's stand in this whole scenario is complex... Not b/w... She lost but she won... She went back to keep her Lord's reputation intact.. To get her sons' rights... She gave the test to preserve her self respect.. Even today, her name is taken in a positive light... Isn't this an achievement?
Cmn to ram's stand... Many feminists don't approve of his decision... But try to keep yourself in his place... Was it easy to choose one side? He could neither choose sita nor his subjects.. What would have happened if he would have chosen sita? We already have the 14 yrs exile example in front of us.. In ram's absence no one would have taken the responsibility of the throne. Once again all of them would have mourned as they did during the 14 yrs exile... Though ram chose his kingdom and let sita on exile... He also didn't leave her ( rem the soil dialogue, he said he shall always be present in her as hope, faith and strength)... It was never that a husband abandoned his wife... It was a king who abandoned the queen... This whole thing took place coz of the 'ravana' in the ppl's minds...
Even though I am very much moved by sita's character I can't help seeing ram"s side also...
Dwaparyuga- here the ravana that found place in the minds of the society seeped deeper into the family... As we see ppl of the same family in the fight... The family who insulted their daughter-in-law. Draupadi even though yagyaseni couldn't escape the agnipariksha.. But again her husbands also suffered with her... They ultimately got justice for her...
Kaliyug- if u c now... You'll find both societal+familial crimes... Ravana in the society and ravana in the family... And its not just women who are exploited... Even the men are... But feminism doesnt allow the society to see that...
As shruthi rightly pointed out the foundation of agnipariksha has weakened... Ppl today c siya gave agnipariksha because it was her fault... Because she was a woman...
But again ppl fail to see what ram would have been through this tym...
Again the agnipariksha sita gave after ravana's defeat... I want to c how is this portrayed in SKR... Can't it be that ram trusted her but didn't trust ravana?
