Aalu seemed to be playing a complicated game here.

And that how she recognizes she never struggled in life etc. But then people would not have believed her if she just said she realizes her wrongs. So rather than saying straight she said she is here to prove herself, to stand on her feet, to make her life!
First of all, she knew no one will forgive her and welcome her in MM. So she didn't even attempt to get in there.
And then she told everyone she wants to stand on her own feet. So rather than saying straight she said she is here to prove herself, to stand on her feet, to make her life!
Her motive is clear, she wants to gain complete trust of the family. She is not begging for it or trying to show them she wants it. Because she will not get it easily. This is why she did not put up a goody goody act. She still maintained her bitterness to keep herself in character.
She wants to show them with actions she has actually realized her mistakes and she is trying to become a better person. She wants them to believe it on their own by seeing her actions!
And that's why she even shed a tear right in front of Abhi, when he was teary. She will tackle that bhai-behen emotion one day and use it too to have him believe her.
Purab investigating Aaliyah (as Abhi gave her that job) will result in him concluding Aalu is nothing but good now.
And then Aaliyah will find her way back into MM and Mehra Khandan.
Most probably to destroy them again.
